Do you think the service is not up to snuff when you are on the dining plan? When we went 2 yrs ago we had the free dining package, service wasnt bad. When we went last year we paid for the dining plan and service was eh. This year we became DVC members and have to pay for the dining plan. Im worried about the service! Any thoughts?

I had excellent service on the DDP. My only problem was a rude waitress at H&V- she didn't think I was old enough to order alcohol and was very rude about it even after I showed a NYS license. Other than that we had nothing but prompt, friendly service.

We were on the Dining Plan last November and had fantastic service. Our Waitresses/Waiters were all extremely helpful and friendly and a couple of them even commented that the Plan made their jobs easier.

We've done trips with and without DDP and have never noticed any difference in the level of service. If anything, we always feel the servers go out of their way to make sure we understand the DDP options.

Some of the restaurants have better service than others, and any server can have an off day, but we've never felt we were treated less professionally because we were on DDP.

We were on the DDP last trip and we found the service to be awesome at every TS meal. 3 of the meals (LeCellier, Spoodles and Kona Cafe) we received better service than we've received at any meal, anywhere, period. From our personal experience DDP didn't affect service negatively at all.

I've used the DDP for 5 trips since Sep. 05 and have had several trips and not purchased the DDP (used the DDE instead). I have found no difference during all of these visits. There are times when the service is great and there are times when service is less than great. I have found that whether we are using the DDP or the DDE, the less than great service just happens no matter how we are paying. Of course, since using the ddp at the beginning, I have seen the menus change ALOT over the past couple of years.

We've used the plan twice and have not noticed any difference between DDP and OOP service.

We've been to Disney many times both on the plan and not on the plan, and we've never had bad service either way.

Last Sept we had 5 meals on DDP and paid oop for 2. It was the best service I've ever had at WDW for all meals, with special mention to Mike at H&V, who did a great job. My KTTW card was messed up and he made sure everything was taken care of and all I had to do was pick up a new card at my resort that night. Took 2 minutes.

We used the plan three times and paid for some of our meals OOP. The service was the same, excellent!

We've had great service at most meals when on the dining plan, with one or two exceptions.

We've had great sercie at most meals when not on the dining plan, with one or two exceptions.

The service we recieved while using the plan was not any different than if we paid cash. Honest!

We were on the plan May 13 - May 19, paid OOP for a couple of meals, and received excellent service at every TS restaurant. We also met some very helpful, memorably friendly CM's at CS as well. It's the same way we've been treated every year at DL -- which doesn't even HAVE a dining plan -- and it's the kind of service we've come to expect from Disney. Disney server CM's are great, no matter how you pay for your meals. :goodvibes

We just returned from a week long trip to WDW using the DDP for the first time and had excellent service. We won't be using the DDP again since it was just too much food for us, but we loved the idea of having the food all paid for up front. On the days we had an expensive TS (like Le Cellier - it was fantastic) the plan more than paid for itself. We're very glad we tried it and love the concept ... but it's just not for us ... and that's okay. :goodvibes

I think it might not necessarily be the DDP, but rather hit or miss on the actual server. We had the DDP, and overall our service was excellent. There were, however, a couple of places where if I were paying the tip on my own dime, they wouldn't have rec'd the entire amount. I'm sorry, but if I have to ask for a refill multiple times (taking between 15 and 30 minutes to happen), it's not great service. The two that come to mind are Crystal Palace and Princess Storybook breakfast. And before anyone writes back to say, "well...my service was great at those 2," realize that this was our own personal experience, and I do think the servers were nice, just overloaded with tables.

Overall, though, the service was great!
