Flags

Does anyone here do flags? I've told my best friend that I will try out with here, and the flag teacher person is almost desperate for people, so there's basically a 99.9% chance that we'll both make it. For a non-athletic person, how bad would it be to perform in front of people?

I do! I'm actually co-captain of my school's flag line. I love it. I've been doing colorguard since 7th grade. I've met so many of my friends through guard, and I just have the best time doing it.

I'm not gonna lie... it does take some work to learn flags. especially hard, complicated tosses. but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. and being non-athletic myself (i hate sports... running is the worst possible punishment for me lol), I absolutely love performing. I def. think you should do it!

Thanks! The only thing I'm worried about is my fear of being in front of people and the fact that I can't memorize anything. I'd be afraid to get out in front of everyone at the football game and totally freeze, forgetting everything! Mom use to do it, and she loved it. She's offered to help me if I really want to do it. With her and my friend whittling me down on it, I think I might attend the practices, at least. The teacher is basically looking for volunteers, because she never has enough people, so if I am any good whatsoever it's almost guarenteed that I'll make it. It's scary to think that I'd forget everything though. If I didn't have that to worry about, I'd be all for it. I think I could concentrate on something other than the people.
