FLA home ins increases

We live in Southeast Florida and my neighbor just got her renewal for her home ins. It increased by 42%! This is with Universal. Holy cow. From 2600 to 3700 / year. My house is double the size of hers and usually double the rates so I am a bit nervous.

So has anyone else in Florida gotten renewals this year and seen any big jumps? I have Tower Hill. My agent said they are all going up some, a few here and there had big jumps but could not guess at what mine will be, not like a % across the board. She cant get the renewal for 2 more months, at 45 days out.

With Irma hitting the entire state, I think it should have been expected. I haven't gotten a bill yet (mine isn't due until July).
