I think I've decided we're going to do our Nov/Dec trip transportation from airport and back again -using FL Tours.

I do have two questions about the MUCH NEEDED 30min grocery stop though. I asked on another thread but I'm afraid it won't be seen since it's not exactly the topic of that thread.

#1- Does it matter what TIME you are arriving and they are picking you up? What I mean is if you are arriving 11:19pm at night- do you still get the grocery stop?? I sure hope so- if not we'll probably rent a vehicle for one day. It's really necessary with my family.

#2- If it is... what stores are open at that hour? I really wanted to go to Publix because I've heard so much about it having everything- we'd be able to buy not only groceries but diapers/pullups/wipes and such -so we wouldn't have to pack them and bring them on the flight. Is Publix open late at night or all night?

Please let me know! Thanks so much. :)

BibbidyBobbidyBoo,
It really doesn’t matter what time you arrive; we’ll stop for you so long as you made the request to stop at the time of your reservation. Although Publix and other local grocery stores we frequent are closed at 10pm, we would stop anywhere where you might find what you’re looking for.
Andy

Thanks Andy..... good about the stop- but where would I stop? :(
Bummer that Publix is closed... so anyone have any suggestions where we could stop in and grab a cooler, snacks for the kids for during our trip (and lowcarb snacks & bottles of water for ourselves too), AS WELL AS diapers, pullups and wipes -things like that? Is there a Walmart open that FL Tours could stop at? I'm not sure if it's way out of the way or what. :(

I gather there is a new grocery store, Winn-Dixie, opened up in LBV. They tell me they’re open 24hrs. You're in good shape.
Andy

I don't know what "in LBV" means but it sounds like good news to me!!! We only need one stop and I'd really rather use FL Tours, make a quick grocery/etc. stop, and then not have to rent a vehicle for the rest of the trip. I think we've decided NOT to go to US/IOA this trip -so the vehicle is not necessary for us this time. :)
Thanks!

Andy- I need your help just once more please.
I'm about to book online a reservation with FL Tours and I'm hoping even doing it online I can request you? If so, I certainly plan to do so! :) Thank you for your help!

But my question that I want your opinion on... should I get a reservation for a towncar or van? (and btw- do you only drive towncars or do you drive luxury vans also?)

Here's why I ask- we will be a family of 5, probably bringing our carseat for our youngest... I did notice it says on there that FL Tours provides a carseat so I'm not POSITIVE we'll be bringing one now. We wouldn't need it once we get there since we aren't renting a vehicle- but I'm not sure if she'd have to have one on the flight or not. Probably not since she's right at 40lbs? I'll have to look up the rules on that. But anyway... family of 5, 3 kids, possibly carseat, definitely stroller, and probably around 4 suitcases (3 big, 1 slightly smaller), & maybe a few carry on bags like the kids small backpacks and my purse and such.

Would we be able to fit all of us and all of that in a towncar? Or should we go with the van -in your opinion? Please let me know! Keep in mind we would also be picking up a cooler, water and snacks, and pullups (maybe? she may not even need them for nighttime at that point- it is a couple months away) -so we'd need room for that too. I'm not sure how much we can really fit in the towncar- it says 4 adults and the luggage it shows is about what we'd have BUT we'd also have another person (toddler) .... but only 2 adults and 2 more younger/smaller children as well as the groceries and stuff. Whatcha think- need to go with the van?

Oh and if we need to go with the van... I'm wondering if we should just splurge a little and go with the limo instead. It fits more and not all THAT much more in cost. Do you drive any vehicle or just certain ones like towncar or limo or what? LMK please!
I'm wondering if we need to do the van or limo if it would be worth the extra to go by limo to start our vacation off in a good way. ;) Know what I mean? I don't even think my kids have ever been in a limo.. and they are sure to point them out to me in awe whenever they see limos around here. LOL

I'm not Andy, but IMO I would get a van. We used a luxury van for 3 adults and a 4 yo and there is no way we would have fit in a town car at all. Especially if you are thinking about getting a cooler at the store, plus your bags and a stroller (without even counting the car seat) you will need the extra room. You could also find out if FL Tours will let you get a luxury van for the ride to your hotel and then a limo to the airport. I found that helps to make leaving WDW a little easier.

Just my .02!

BTW--congrats on your (weight) loss!

We had a late arrival for our current trip and FL Tours stopped at Albertson's for our grocery stop. It's a nice store and had everything we needed. The store even gave us a complimentary discount card right at the register. It saved about $6 on our purchases.

We have ridden with Andy many times, but have also been delighted with all of the other drivers with FL Tours. We've ridden with about 4 now and all have been prompt, courteous, polite and cheerful!

Enjoy the ride!! :)

The airlines do not care if you use a carseat or not. I have read that it is recommended (safety wise) that you use one until 40lbs - remember you cannot use a booster type seat on the plane unless it also has a 5-point harness.

I think you would probably want choose a van. It’s roomy and comfortable. Besides, you only pay $10.00 more than what you pay for the town car. If you wish, FL TOURS can provide you with car seats and booster at no extra cost. When requesting car seats or boosters, just remember to tell us the children age and weight so we ca appropriate the right type of restraints in accordance with FL child safety law. Just for your information the Limo rate is $190.00 for the round trip. I drive all kinds of vehicle. Depending on the schedule the day you arrive, I could be the one who would be assigned to drive you.
Than you,
Andy

Hi Doc, sorry I haven’t had the chance to drive you guys on your recent trips. Been kind of busy. Please say hello to your lovely bride Liz for me.

You know Andy, I got to thinking about maybe you don't work that late. LOL

Anyway, thanks for all the replies.

I just reserved the limo online- because we've decided to go with the limo instead of the van. I figured we'd need to do the van or limo- and talked about it with DH... and the first words out of his mouth were reminding me that he'd never been in a limo (complete with grin) LOL So I guess that's what we'll do. I don't know if we'll get you as our driver- but I'm sure whoever we get will be great with FL Tours. :)

Thanks for all your help! (And btw- Albertson's would be fine)

Since I made the reservation and mentioned yes on booster and carseat (as well as the grocery trip) -when (or how) do I make sure they know my children's sizes as you mentioned, Andy? Will they email me to ask or something?
