Happy to be a resident but not happy with the blackout dates on the affordable annual passes. :((((

what do most residents do?

Do you get the 365 day pass (so $$$$), not go at all, or just go a few times and pay full price.

thanks all !

We sometimes get the after 2:00 pm water park passes. They let you in at 1:45 pm and in the summer the hours are extended and the few hours in the afternoon are plenty in the heat and crowds. And by late in the day, often times the park cleared out from afternoon storm or people sun burned!

We get the Seasonal Pass and go on school breaks. Though DS is now taking school via the Virtual School so we just go any time now. But Florida schools get out earlier than most so we always went the last week in May. I have no desire to be at Disney in those huge crowds and the horrible heat and humidity of summer. It might be different if I lived closer though.

As a Florida resident, I would rather stab my eye out with a fork then go to Disney at peak times. The heat and crowds are insane. The seasonal pass works just great for us! The weather is better and the crowds are less!

This!!! When we lived in FL and had the seasonal passes, I was happy with the black out dates because no way would I have gone during those times anyway.

Yes! This is a great bargain.

If u don't to spend the $$$ for annual pass you can get the weekday pass for cheaper... It still has blackout dates though...,

we went last yr during summer and it was not bad at all crowds were higher but lines went fast we didnt wait more that 20 mins or so we went early am or late evening for nighttime! we made sure to drink plenty of water and we took breaks in ac resturants and stores when we were hot! most of the rides are inside so the ac is on we have ap now and plan on going one -2 days a week during summer this yr! we also will get a h20 park pass as well~!

Don't forget that if you get the regular Resident AP it also includes parking, which is important if you are staying off-site. The Seasonal (and Weekday Select) do not include parking.

I've gotten the seasonal passes with the blackout dates in summer the past few years and been pretty happy with them. I would never want to go to Disney in the summer with the humidity and rain anyway.

I started out with a seasonal pass but once I added up how much I paid in parking over the year, it came up to almost being the same cost as the FL annual. Now I just get the annual on the payment plan. It ends up being under $30 a month. I usually visit one weekend a month so the pass is pretty much paying for parking since I rarely stay on-site. (I love the BW on hotel row.)

Lived in Florida all of my life and I don't know anyone that does WDW in the summer. I will not stand in the heat or the crowds. Crowds I can handle but not in 98 degree and 100% humidity. We never stay offsite so the parking perk of an annual pass doesn't matter to us. That is also another one of my little WDW demands, I won't stay offsite.

We get the annual but our condo is close by so we often run over for dinner or a special event. We also have many visitors and I want to be able to meet them in the parks if I want to and not be limited. I call WDW my Country Club and just look at the costs that way.

We have the annual pass and pay on the monthly plan. we are letting it lapse this upcoming year because I don't think we'll be going that often with a newborn but once he's a year old we'll be back again.

Ha. I love summer in Fl. Bit chilly for me right now.

The weekday pass has the whole SUMMER BLOCKED out as well...

Kids are out of school in the summer. This is when I need a discounted pass. :(

Amen and ditto.

DD and I have the regular Florida resident pass, and my bf only has the seasonal. I priced out the difference of paying for parking and not, and I think I have to go 14 days for it to come out even (I can't remember, I did the math awhile ago ...)

DD and I go for a few hours in the evening during the summer, if at all. My bf works all summer, so it would just be us at home all day. We live an hour away, so we rarely stay onsite.
