FJ Single Riders versus Regular Queue

Average is about ten minutes for me, although I've seen it as long as half an hour or more during really busy times or if the ride breaks down.
...on my last trip in February I tried to get in the singles line and the line was at the stairs when you first enter the singles line.I chose not to wait as I never saw it that far back before. Can anybody who rides Forbidden Journey singles regularly tell me how long the wait would have been from that far back.
This past Monday, I hit one of those crazy busy times and found the single riders line backed up to the stairs when you first enter. I thought about skipping the ride altogether, but decided to go for it. It took 30 minutes from the bottom of the stairs to get to the ride. Just as inkkognito wrote above. I got in line about 5 people back from the bottom of the stairs at 7:20pm and was at the front of the single riders line at 7:50pm.

But conditions will vary throughout the day. rbrainerd above posted that they went on Monday too and walked right on via single riders line. I wish we had those conditions! Still, 30 minutes isn't too bad considering.

Around 12/28 the line was so long the wait to just get to the main entrance of the castle was almost an hour. Singles had to wait on the line until you entered the castle. The line went almost to Jurassic Park.

I didn't bother waiting.

To clarify this wasn't the line to enter Hogwarts. This was the line to ride the FJ after you entered Hogwarts via the "Fast Pass" that was given out earlier in the day.

We got to the park as it opened which I believe was a bit before 9:00. We headed straight to FJ...maybe that is why we walked right on? not sure. There was a line we bypassed due to not having bags. So get there early and DO NOT have any bags and it seemed to save us quite a wait

Had to drop DD off at a conference on 3/17, so DD and I got to IOA around 8 for a posted 9am opening. There was a decent line to get in by 8:30, so they opened the gates at the point. Followed the crowds to another area that was roped off and waited <10 minutes. When that area was opened, people RAN (we didn't, but I did get my ankle run over by a wheelchair :confused3 in the process). We had read the great tips about no bags, so we didn't have to deal with that issue. Found the single rider staircase (I didn't see that it was marked at all) and went up.. we were the only ones in that line!) Walked right on to FJ. It was so awesome we did the rode it again.. again, no one else in the SR line. Riding FJ so quickly back to back did make me a little nauseous, so twice was enough for us. After we rode, we left through the locker area and asked a worker where the castle tour was. He opened a rope for us, and we were able to walk through the entire ride (again, no one but us was doing this). THere is a portrait room on the tour that is not accessible to the people in the que line. I wonder if that was someone duplicated for the tour? Also, the tour is often closer to the displays than the que line (for instance, in the library). The tour ends before the ride and we left through a door that put us in the same exit as people just exiting the ride.

Yes, there is another portrait room in the main queue that you do not see in the castle tour queue (and vice-versa). There is speculation that the CT queue will one day become the Express queue, if FJ ever gets one. That UO went to the trouble of creating a separate portrait room for this queue only reinforces in my mind that was UO's original intent.

And unless you're really attached to the greenhouse, you just discovered the absolute best way to experience all that FJ has to offer, with little to no wait.
