FJ for ride wimps?

My dd rode it first day, and refused to ride again until our last day there. She ended up loving it and rode it several more times.

The first ride is scary, but after you know what to expect, it's just fun...and I've got a feet dangling phobia, and terrified of Soarin', but fell in love w/ FJ.

My 60yr old mom even liked it, but I suspect her eyes were closed during the majority of it.

Life is too short. Do it anyway! I promise, you'll survive.:thumbsup2

I love this statement. I'm also a huge (I mean huge) ride wimp but this statement is so true.

If you have any real phobias (heights, spiders, etc) then this may not be for you. If you have motion sickness (mine is pretty bad but not horrible if that makes sense) take dramamine and close your eyes when you get to the quidditch match.

If you don't have true phobias or problems with motion sickness. Ride it! I promise it will be FUN.:thumbsup2

I love this ride for the feeling of flying, and the similator aspect of it is so fun....but the dementors are the part I hate. I hate things that jump out in the dark and spook me!! the spiders are fine, but the dementors are something I still need to get over! My first ride in 2011 FEB had us STUCK in the dementor room for 10 min. hanging due to a ride malfunction....at least I got to see the room with the lights on, and see how the dementors where made etc....I am hoping that next time I will remember they are just a bunch of styrofoam balls with sheets dangling, and remember that it's only paint and fluff.....maybe that will help ease my fear....I really hate to be startled in the dark!!! That's the only bad part for me....I'm actually ok with the big spiders, even though I don't like real spiders! :scared:

I'm fine with Spiderman. Star Tours makes me a little queasy. Mission Space intense training doesn't make me sick, but I have a phobia about it now that makes me want to pass out while waiting in line for it :rotfl2:

That said, does FJ have any upside down parts, or just the lying on the back part?

It does not take you upside-down, but the on-your-back parts may feel a little like it.

I usually don't get sick on rides, but the dementors part got to me a little bit. It wasn't that they were scary (and they were) but that the motions to get away from them were a little too much. I rode it again anyway! But my family members with me were "one and done". We all agreed that the castle tour was the best part of the whole thing. We loved poking along. taking pictures and really enjoying the sights--the best theming ever!

We have to agree with CLEO. We both felt "dizzy" when we got off and did the "one and done" also. The movement of the ride AND the effects were just a little too much for us. Glad to see what all the hype is about though.

Spiderman is still our #1 at Universal.
