I just added DDP to an existing reservation for October. When I first called about price I got quoted the $37.99 per adult and $10.99 per child rate for the seven nights (a total of about $609)

I had already paid in full for the room/ticket package, so when the CM told me the cost of the add on I nearly fell out of my chair, it was a lot less than $609. He double checked it all, told me it was valid for all of us, for our entire stay. I checked our reservation online and it all checked out too.

Being the worry wart that I am, I have the concern that he has messed up something somewhere. So my question is really is that price per person hard and fast, or are their discounts with packages? I am getting another letter of confirmation, so I guess I shall see if there are any issues or not.

There is/was a package discount & may be for the time you are going. It is for a discount on the room portion of your package. What dates are you going?

Call again tomorrow and talk to a different CM for clarification.
You're right - two adults and one child for seven nights is $609.
It's possible there's a room discount that was released after you made (and paid) your original reservation, and today's CM quoted you the total based on that discount.

There's the Dreams package offer available (limited) for stays between Oct 1st and Dec 23rd (with some blackout dates). Perhaps this is what you got without realising it? That would be great!!

Here's a link to the offer online - perhaps you should input your details and see what price comes up? Of course availability is limited now and I don't even know if the GF was included or not.

I'm assuming your child is older than 3 - under 3s are free.

Good luck! I hope it all works out.

What number were you quoted? (Maybe it is some other multiple of the numbers, indicating that they have you in for fewer days or fewer people than you need?)

Thanks for all your input. I wasn't convinced it was right at all. So I called them up again. We went through it all and yep there was an error. The CM who added the dining plan somehow erased our vacation protection plan, which was the amount difference ($120) It's all sorted out now, and I got a lot of apologies from the CM, could have been awful if I needed to use the insurance!

It was nice for a moment to think it was a discount! Glad it's sorted out though. I was able to add the dining plan using Disney Reward points, so as I had already "budgeted" for the full amount, it wasn't a horrible shock! So my advice is to double check your reservations and make sure what you thought you booked is still on there!

Just to let you know, if you book online like we always do, the box for vacation insurance is checked and you uncheck if you don't want the insurance. So far all is good.
When you check that you want vac insurance and then later call WDW to modify or add something they can't see that you purchased vac insurance on their screen, they have to call elsewhere to verify.

This has happened to us the 3 times we have booked our trips online, if you know you checked the box for vacationinsurance, hold on to your paperwork.

I can't remember where they call but it won't show on their screen, and I was told it was only because I booked our trip online @ disney.com.
