Can someone verify this for me. If my husband has a five day, on the last day we can purchase an annual pass for the difference; is that correct? Example: Five day pass was $300, annual 550, so we would pay the $250 for an annual. TIA

Yes, you can do that. Make sure that his ticket is upgradeable (some tickets have no monetary value). If you bought the ticket, he should be fine.
It might be more beneficial for your husband to upgrade to an AP earlier in his trip. The passholder discounts on food and merchandise could be used throughout his trip if he upgrades on Day 1 vs. no discounts if he upgrades on Day 5. If he has a MM, use that first before upgrading. Hope this helps.

Wait, is that really how it works? I always figured you would only get the difference of what was left on the ticket. For instance, if you already used 4 of the 5 days you can only put the value of the last unused day toward the AP. If that isn't the case that may change how we approach a potential future AP.

You get the value you paid. The expiration date of the AP is supposed to be the first day you used your ticket, so unless you're trying to avoid blockout dates or saving a MM on the ticket, you might as well upgrade earlier.

This is what I did on my last trip. Bought a 3 day hopper, used my MM on the first available day - which was my first day - then upgraded to an AP mid day so I could use my AP discount for a Blue Bayou Fantasmic dinner pkg we had that night.

Great. Thank you. I will have an AP, as well as my daughter, but we are deciding on a later trip in the year, it would be beneficial for him to upgrade before we leave. So we can still get the discounts even if he does not upgrade until last day. I just wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. Thank you!

As long as someone in your party (who is willing/able to pay) has an AP, you will be able to get the AP discounts. Usually, the AP holder has to be the one that pays (i.e., they won't always allow you to show you AP and then have someone else pay). So, let's say you have the AP and your husband does not yet. You can get the merchandise and dining discounts, but most likely you will have to handle the payment of the merchandise or the dining bill. If you husband is by himself, then he will not be able to get the AP discounts on things.

This is true. BFF, her daughter, and I are all APs. Her daughter (aged 13) had to show her AP and pay for her own purchases after she carried them to the counter and added them to her mother's.

Not sure what you mean by it would be beneficial for him to upgrade before we leave. His AP will start regardless of which day he upgrades. If he uses his hopper on the 2nd, and upgrades on the 7th, his AP will still expire the 2nd of the next year.
