I have been in that store only a couple of time, maybe 3 times, but it has been awhile.............do they have party like favors?

Five Below is a lot closer to my house then Party City is. What do you put in your party bags?

I'm sure each store is a little different, but it depends on what you are looking for? At our store, they do have trinkets and stuff. They have tons of candy or little games. For girls they have nail polish and nail things and gag gifts for boys.

But they also have bigger things like towels, pillows, shirts, socks, and games. I wasn't sure what age group you were looking for. :)

Thanks you. The ages are between 4 and 10.

If you have a party theme, perhaps decide on what your price limit is for the favor bags and maybe buy one thing for each child instead of a bunch of little things.

Over the years, we've bought and received many party favors from Five Below:
- small beach bag w/beach toys
- ball (soccer, kick ball, novelty large tennis balls)
- games (there's a huge assortment of games there)
- craft kits
- webkinz
- summer items
- Pillow pet type plush animals
- sidewalk chalk
- coloring book and crayons
- child size snuggie
- Japanese erasers
- Bubbles/jump rope/frisbee

They have a small party section with goody bags. There's also a loose candy section where each piece is 10 cents or so. You can get a nice assortment for the goody bags.

The bins near the register are $1 bins. You can easily find things to fill goody bags. They also have a section of gags which older boys might like. They have small Lego kits, small k'nexx kits, and other small toys.

Merchandise changes all the time. My daughter LOVES to shop there for little things.

Five Below is great for favors (I don't do the bag'o'cr@p). I usually spend $3 - $5 on a gift for each guest. Buy extra, keep the receipt, and return what you don't need.

Thank you for all the info. :thumbsup2
I will go today and check it out. I do not want to get things that just fill a bag. I would like the kids to be able to use what is in there if ya know what I mean.

I would rather not do the "bag'o'cr@p" either. I want the kids to actually enjoy what they get instead of the parent throwing the items in the trash. :)

I also think 1 item is better than lots of trinkets-I tend to toss those the next day b/c they are never played with.

Things you can get at 5 Below that might be good favors (not sure if you need for boys or girls):

*water bottles
*nailpoish sets
*barrettes or hair ribbons
*pool tubes/rafts or small boogie boards
*craft sets
*sports balls (footballs/basketballs)
*lego mini sets
*glittery lava lamps
*funky keychains

I hope you find what you need! :)

Thanks..........it is a mix of boys and girls, more girls than boys.

My daughter just got a new lava lamp at Five Below..she loves it!

You can find all kinds of fun stuff for favors there!

I tend to go with food goodie bags. I'm working on the ones for my kids party & so far I have small bags of cheddar bunnies, CLIF twisted fruit, granola bars & Harry Potter pins. I have popcorn containers from the Dollar Spot to put everything in. I'll probably add a few more food items & call it good.

The food post reminded me--I've done chocolate covered pretzel sticks as a favor. The kids love them and they are really easy. You can get the colored chocolate discs at Micheals-or other craft stores. And after that's melted (I use a double boiler) dip the pretzels about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way and put sprinkles on them. You can also find plastic gift bags in teh same section as the chocolate made just for choc.pretzels. 2 or 3 of those in a bag with some curling ribbon and voila! :)

It takes a little more prep, but the parents have loved it, too, bc it's not junk to take home--just a bit more sugar. ;)

I would definetely check it out... Five Below always has a variety of different things, so I'm sure you could find something! They have plenty of stuff for girls AND boys, and plus everything is under $5 :thumbsup2
Another place to check for party favors would be a dollar store, or the dollar areas at Target or Walmart... they usually have a ton of little Disney themed items ;)
