FITS viewing outside of MK?

We are going to be outside of the park when MK has its FITS firework show. One night we will be at the Poly for dinner, one night we'll be at the Wilderness Lodge for dinner, and one night we will be at Downtown Disney. Are there spots at any of these locations where the fireworks are visible? Please share your prime viewing locations with me!

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago, and here's what I found out (Wendy): You can see the MK fireworks from the Grand Floridian upper floors, or from down at the boat docks. Beware, however, that some people feel these areas are only for the benefit of those staying at the resort. So if you ask that question on the resorts board you may get some heated answers .
Also, (MickeyFanz): You can supposedly get a great view from the beach at Fort Wilderness, and there is a wagon ride at that time that brings you right to the viewing spot. Maybe you could head over there after dinner at Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks for the answers! It sounds like that may not work... oh well. Just an idea. Last year we were leaving Chef Mickey's and just happen to catch the Electrical Water Pageant through the windows on the right as you leave the restaurant. That must not have been a "resort guest" only thing though because NO ONE was at the windows!!! Anyway... I thought it might work out. We'll still see the Fireworks 2 nights at MK... I guess I can miss the night of dinner at Park Fare

Thanks, MrsMud. Unfortunately, I think we'll still be in the restaurant when the fireworks start. I was hoping there was somewhere at the WL you could run out to see them!

Anyone know where to see them at the Poly?

You can see them from any of the MK hotels, the better ones are the beach at the Poly, the deck at the Contemp, the docks at the GF.

Not sure about WL since that has some pretty tall trees there, but a WL expert should be able to give you a location.

As far as the docks or beaches being only for the respective hotel guest, well we're not and plan on watching the private press party ones on the 8th from the Poly. We leave the 9th and will miss them by 24 hours. We are staying at the AKL and there is NO WHERE that states these are areas for hotel guests only, at least that I've seen. CMs have pointed me to these places. Sure the pools are one thing, but a dock, come on that's just goofy.

If a CM was to ask me to leave and tell my it was for Poly or GF or ??? guests only I would, but I've never been asked to leave and never has a another guest said anything to our party. I think some people are just too darn uptight. LOL I guess I could say the same thing to them, you can't view the animals at the AKL because you're not staying there. That sure would go over well. LOL

I say if you get a chance and want to see them ask a CM at the hotel for a good spot and I'm sure they will point you in the right direction!! This has been the case for us for several trips! And the EWP is a huge bonus, small but really neat to see!!

I've read that you can indeed see them from the Fort Wilderness Beach, so I'm guessing they can also be seen from WL

We might plan to do this at FW one night just so we won't be in the mass exodus at the end.
