I just added up my foods for today on Fitday.com (cool site) and the calories were high. Do you pay attention to calories if you are on Atkins? If you do, what do you generally shoot for? Thanks so much!

If you're losing the way you want to, then no need to worry about the calories! If you're not losing, then you may want to modify calories, or your fat/protein/carb percentages. I lose best when I'm eating 70% fat / 20% protein / 10% carbs. Fitday is nice enough to figure this out for you. A common cause of stalls on Atkins is letting your fat percentage get too low.

I just checked my percentages and they were a bit different from yours, but not by much. This is the first time I have really input my food, and I think I will try to keep doing so, to get an idea of what works for me.
Thanks for your help!

This may seem like a silly question, but I am on Atkins and what should I eat that has more fat in it? I think I am eating LESS fat than I should be...but I'm not sure?

I remember when I started my lowfat/lowsodium 1200 calorie diet my friend was eating lots of BACON! Her calories were way up there and so was her fat %

Butter, mayonnaise, cheese, nuts, a good burger, yum!! If you like avocados, they're a good source of fat. For salad, you can use an oil & vinegar dressing.

Hope these ideas help!
