Can anyone tell me if there is any fishing available when staying on site at Disney? In brochures they give it the briefest of mentions but no information :confused3

There are many fishing options avaiable as I am researching this for an upcoming trip with friends in Nov 2005. There are 2hr morning trips for $210 for up to five people. If you go to the DIS Home link on this site and then fishing under the receration heading there is some good information on this site.

Thanks Tiffany I'll take a look =o)

ps, how can I get a countdown to my own holiday?

My husband and I went fishing at WDW on Feb 6th. We had a blast! I caught a 6.5lb bass and my husband caught several fish over 4lbs. This was my dh's first trip to Disney in about 20 years. When I was planning the trip I kept asking my dh if he wanted to go fishing and he said no, he could do that at our camp. Well, when we arrived at WDW he definately had a change of heart and we booked a last minute trip. He really enjoyed the fishing trip, he and the guide talked the whole 2 hours! I know it may be a little pricey for some but it definately sprinkled more pixie dust on our trip.

Go to the tech board located on this site and it will give your directions.

Where did you depart from? We will be staying at POR and according to what I have read there is a tour that departs from there.

If you can I would recomend you take the trip that leaves from WL. This way you fish in front of the MK. It is pretty cool to see the world wake-up. I heard the fishing is better too.

Thanks for the info on this excurision. I think they might like it.

a hint on the fishing trips - any time is better than no time....but for the BEST in WDW fishing:

- book the earliest trip in the day - fishies wake up early to feed.
- book a trip in the spring (which is feb and march in Florida) as it is when the Bass are feeling romantic. the males stike at anything as they are all aggressive.

Two tips given to us by more than one guide at the FW docks.

We left from the WL dock and we had the early morning trip. My Husband caught a few fish in front of MK but we caught our largest fish near the Contemporary marina. My husband (a non-Disney freak) is looking forward to fishing at the World again!

Thanks for the tips. We are going to book the first trip out which is 7am. But, we are going in Nov so we have no choice in timing as far as season is concerned. Thanks again.

Call 1-407-WDW-PLAY to schedule a fishing trip. They have them both on the lake by WL and the lagoon between Disney Studios and Epcot. I think they are about $140 or there abouts.

Oops! Just saw this thead after I posted a similar question on the Resorts Board. Has anyone done the Dockside Outing that's described on the WDW web site? They don't list a price for that, but you're supposed to call a number to "book your outing now!"

BTW, we're also going in November. :cool1:
