My DF would like to have a day of fishin' with the boys. Anyone know if Disney does this, or should we be looking off site?

I don't know this from personal experience, but I used to work in Disney reservations and if memory serves there are fishing activities at Fort Wilderness and I think the marina by the Contemporary as well. Also, there is some sort of pole fishing available at Port Orleans Riverside.
I'd call 407-WDW-PLAY. They might be able to set something up.
Hope this helps!!!! :thumbsup2

Also, I forgot to mention that all fishing at WDW resorts is catch and release only......

DF is all about this too! I remember when I worked at Disney they offered this as well. It would be fun! Let me know if you find out the pricing please.

READER COMMENTS

Dave, 10/05: Fishing Trips are a wonderful way to take a break from the parks and have a lot of fun. What could be better than catching bass with Disney properties as a backdrop. The last two trips that my family took to Disney (2003 and 2005) we did a fishing excursion each time. In 2003 we went in November and caught 22 bass all weighing 4 pounds or more with the largest being about 8 pounds. The latest trip we went in October and caught 17 bass again all 4 pounds or
bigger. The biggest this trip was caught by my daughter and was around 6+ pounds and watching her reel it in was a blast. If you go to Disney in the summer the fishing may not be as good as we have experienced in the fall because of the heat. The fishing trips are expensive, $230 for 2 hours. But I will do at least one fishing trip each time we go to Disney. My daughter and I enjoy it so much and it gives us both some one on one quality time.

I just did a WDW fishing excursion with DBF last week and we really had a good time. Just a small edit to the allears info is that the two morning excursions are $235, not $225. Also, we were staying at the Wilderness Lodge and the guide picked us up at the marina there, and that's not listed on the allears info either. You can call 407-939-BASS (2277) to book.

But as far as the experience, it was really fun. We caught a lot of fish (all catch and release as a previous poster mentioned). The guides know exactly where to go to catch fish, so that makes it all the better. I would definitely recommend it for your DF, and if you think it's something you might like, you should try it too. I fish with my DBF at home, so it was a given that we were going together, but even if you haven't fished before, it's a good time... and there's no better ego booster than continuously pulling fish in for the whole time!

Thanks for the quick responses folks. I'm passing the info along to the GMs to handle. I can't look after every detail of this trip ;)
