I've got ressies for 2 rooms at CR through SoG for 12/6 - 12/13. I received my confirmation letter from WDW way back when - and they state that the balance of the room charge is due sometime in November....last time we stayed at SoG, we didn't have to pay for the room balance until checkout. But that was at the old SoG, and I'm trying to figure out if the balance is REALLY due before we arrive or not. Do you know??

I'm not FirstNo, but the answer to your question is "no, you don't need to send any money prior to check in.
Have a great trip. We check in to the CR (SOG) next Thursday. We've stayed there four times during the SOG construction, and while we're anxious to gohome to SOG, we've learned to love the CR. Have a great vacation!

Nothing to worry about. Your remaining balance is not due until arrival. What I had been told by Disney was for most of their (Disney's) reservations, they do require the full balance to be paid. However, resvs through SoG (and I'm sure there are other vendors) did not have to pay the remaining balance until arrival. And, since SoG was one of the smallest vendors Disney has, they weren't about to change the wording on their reservations for us. You're good to go and you're very welcome!!!
