First World Problems...I may be "stuck" with a Jun/Jul/Aug trip!!

So, if you look at my signature, it tells you that we LOVE the free dining promo! And no matter what anyone says, due to the fact that we love the dining plan, it has saved us thousands of dollars on trips!

With that said, now that two of my children are in college, it is getting near impossible to receive that "free dining" promo. Since we are all off in the summer and our options would be wide open, when could we go to see lesser crowds and try to save some money?? Heat is not an issue. Thank you!

We are looking at only one week this time, staying on property and it has to be somewhere between June 20 and August 20.

been there done that with younger kids because one's mother had put in court order that other than for sickness she has to approve any school time off more than one day. we have done the end of your trip dates for our trips

For lesser crowds the end of your time period in August is best. Most of not all kids are out of school for June and July and early to mid August. They start returning mid august so your best bet is later in August

I’ve been to the parks in June, mid-July, and August. I agree with @MinnieSue and would choose the 2nd week of August. Happy planning!

Another for August. We used to go summers. I work in higher ed, the kids were in school, and so our only option was summer. August had the lowest cross, the best room rates, (and I think we got free dining in 08?)

We've done July 3 times and August once. Hot is hot so that won't really change. We did find the August crowds to be better and would do another August trip with no issues.

While not during free dining, but there may be other promos available (like room discounts), you could also try January during their winter breaks. The only issue there would be the tour groups. I honestly haven’t found them to be too big of a problem during that time. The weather is also much better then.

I’m no Free Dining expert by any means, but don’t they offer some of those packages in August?......or is it closer to the end of the month? I know there were some extra dates offered for holders of the Chase Disney card last year, but I wasn’t paying really close attention, so I may be way off-base.

We went in August last year and August this year and got a free QDP on each trip.

Although we were booking from the UK and booked in Sept/Oct of the previous year each time, so that's probably not a lot of help to you.

You are actually right on target .they have historically added the free dining promotion in August but generally at the end of the month .sooner in the month if you hold the Disney visa.

Initially I was going to suggest the earlier in June you could go would be the best, but then I saw that it wouldn't be until June 20. Given your dates I would say go as late as you can within your window. Many schools start going back to school mid August (we go back Aug. 8 next year). It will be hot no matter which of your dates you pick, may as well try for the least possible crowded time.
