Hi all of you West Coast cruisers,

I know we have all been hungry for some information on our cruises. My documents arrived today for our May 28th cruise and I'll share some information from them.

The Terminal address for our Mexican Riviera departure is 425 S. Palos Verdes Street - Berth #93A/B in the World Cruise Center Terminal.

Hours of operation on our sailing day are 10:00-5:00.

The documents detail distances from the airport, driving directions and a summary of ground transfer options.

The Customs Allowance for our trips is $800 per person. A Passport is recommended.

Now that is it. I have our cabin number, which we knew when we booked, as we knew our dining time of second time, which we requested. But there is no rotation code indicated anywhere like LAPLAPL, nor is there any clue as to when formal nighta, theme nights, etc. are.

If I'm missing something, tell me where to look. Other than the one sheet of paper called Addendum to Passport to Disney Magic, West Coast Sailings, there is no specialized info enclosed.

I guess we can still be a little info hungry for awhile. :teeth:

Moley -

Thanks for posting. Now we know we are getting close. We are on the July 2nd cruise. Can you elaborate a bit on the transfer options. Are they suggeting transfers on your own, car, shuttle, bus, etc. Cost. We are flying in the day before so not sure if this would even apply to us. I am sure there will be others who are curious about transportation/transfers.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, we are on that cruise too. Iam getting so excited. I hope mine get here soon (the TA probably get them first)

I'm so excited for you  Thanks for sharing, and keep us "posted" on any news you get!

Summary of Ground Transfer Options - California

Transfer packages or individual transfer components can be purchased and include the following:*

Airport pickup - Met at airport by a Disney representative who will provide escort to the motor coach on Saturdays only to the Port of Los Angeles. Guests traveling to the Disneyland Resort Sunday through Friday are required to collect their luggage in baggage claim and proceed to the Green Bus Loading zone outside the arrival terminal. Transfer vouchers provided in the Guest Ticket Booklet should be presented to the Coach USA of Anaheim airport bus shuttle for transfers to the Disneyland Resort.

Round-trip ground transportation.

Baggage handling - from the L.A. airport, to the Disneyland Resort, to the ship.

*Provided guests arrive during standard Disney Cruise Line airport pick-up operating hours and purchase the applicable transfer packages and/or transfer components to receive the above service.

The above is word for word from the Addendum paper. That's all there was to it. I hope that helps, but it seems a little confusing to me. I didn't see any further reference to what operating hours were at the airport for instance. I'm also not sure where you purchase these transfers. Perhaps it is through your travel agent or through your reservations line at DCL. I'm new to cruising, this being only my second and we are not opting for the transfers. Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.

Moley and Figment52...come on over to our specific cruise meet thread. We are all meeting at Scoops at 300p on sailing day. :goodvibes

Does that mean that we can start boarding at 10am (I'm on the July 30th cruise) or is that just when the terminal is open? Does it say anywhere in your docs what time we can board at?

Thanks for all the info, I still feel info starved....ugh!

Liser Ann, that is the hours of operation of the terminal, not boarding time. I imagine boarding time will coincide with times in Florida, around 12:00 or so. That is only my guess. The docs didn't give a clue as to actual check in or boarding time, only when we could get in the terminal.

Hmmm, so I wonder when they'll tell you when boarding is? I would think it would be in the documents...can you tell I'm chomping at the bit?!?! :teeth:

Thank you for posting! I hope you plan to post a trip report when you get back! At least tell us what the theme night is ASAP! Thanks! :goodvibes

cruise docs don't include your dining rotation

LiserAnn...Our guest copy of our reservation says on it "Embarkation begins at 1:00pm. And you must be on board by 3:00pm."

thanks for posting. I am on the same cruise,I guess along with figment 52, but haven't got mine yet, maybe since it has to go to the West Coast. Yeah, I can't wait. My ds, has made a paper chain, and everyday he tears off another chain as we get closer to the date. How exciting. I don't have anyone those special green mouse ears??? you guys talk about from home depot. I guess I missed out on what ever you guys were all talking about. Is there a dis-cruise meets or something for our trip??
Well, I will anxiously wait, our docs.

Thanks for the information. According to your post, if you are using Disney transfers you have to get your own luggage. Boy is that different from MCO in Florida. I really looked forward to not having to handle the luggage. What a bummer :sad2: (I have been spoiled) Just think they are giving away that service with the new promotion at WDW

You guys are lucky..I am on the May 14th cruise..and many of us don't have our documents yet. They have started arriving, we are all waiting..patiently..yeah right.. :rotfl2: .

The thread for the May 28th West Coast Cruise is : May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera. Please join us at Scoops at 3pm on embarkation day! There is a lot of info to read on that thread. When you have a couple hours to spare, you should read thru it!;) The Home Depot has a Disney portion in their paint dept. There you will find free paint sample chips in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head! Take the Alien Green color. If you are joining us at Scoops, please list your names, and cabin numbers (optional) on the May 28th thread so you can get added to the Scoops meet list. Also, we are having all the children bring a postcard from where they are from to exchange. At this point it looks like we'll each need to bring about 25-30 postcards!
Hope this helps. Welcome aboard!:goodvibes

Wow, have a blast and SEND US LIVE REPORTS!!

We are using SuperShuttle to get us from John Wayne Airport to Disneyland (a few days early). I decided to us Disney Transfers to the port. The cost of the transfers (from the Grand Californian to the port) are $25 per person. From everything I've read so far renting a car and droping it off at the port doesn't sound to promising. Don't know about leaving a car at the port.
