First weeks in December of this year, tour groups or not?

I know many are doubtful that Pop Warner will have their championship this year at Disney but could there be any other large groups or tours planned for the first few weeks in December which could have an effect on resorts that anyone knows of?

A really quick trip for us in early December is most likely not going to happen, but you never know. So I did take the liberty of booking us for 12/3-12/6 at CBR. If its not any better by the beginning of November, I will cancel, no problem. But one of the reasons I did so was the fact that I figured Pop Warner will probably not be at Disney this year.

JMO,but I think the EARLIEST WDW will see any large groups would be Cheerleading and Dance Worlds in late April,2021.

I think Pop Warner,The 15s in January/February and College Cheer/High School Cheer/All-Star Cheer,etc for January/February/March will all have to bow to King Covid unfortunately.

ESPN used to have a big event in the Boardwalk area the first week of December. This year???

I only remember this because we have birthdays around then and always have trouble getting the rooms we want.

The only way I would go during Pop Warner would be if I was staying at a Deluxe hotel. That seems to be the only way of ensuring you wouldn't be at the same place. We have only done Disney once in December and that was like maybe tens years ago. Pop Warner week. I read and read and was assured that they would not be at POR that year, so I felt good about it. Well about a month out, I found out that sure enough they were gonna be there.

I was able to push our trip out a week and still stay at POR. I was fortunate. I had the information on what was coming at me and I dodged that bullet wisely.

That was the Home Depot College Football Awards Show that was televised live from Atlantic Dance Hall.

The Athletes/Coaches/ESPN personalities would stay at BWI.

After many years at WDW it was moved to the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta several years ago.

That week is cheaper. But this is a very rare situation with Pop Warner not being there that week. If you are able to use that situation do so, because it may never come about again anytime soon.

Our trip was in the middle of Pop Warner and we stayed at Pop. The only time we saw their group was at Chef Mickey’s.

Pop Warner definitely will not be at ESPN this year, they are looking at alternative sites.

2 years ago we stayed at Pop in late Nov/early Dec for 10 days. I heard that sport groups are there, they kept them in one area, the 50s and we never saw them.

We've lived here for more than 10 years. What I can tell you is: you just never know. Probably 60% chance yes. Could be 80+ degrees, or maybe just 65 and in the 40's at night. And just because it's 80 one day doesn't mean it'll be 80 the next. Could be sunny, could be rainy. December is fickle. The average daily temp in December is supposed to be around 75 degrees.

Was it warm enough to swim during the day?

The first day was a high of 85, then it dropped to 60 to 65 the next 4 days, then around low 70’s at the end. I don’t swim but I think you could in the afternoon, pools are heated.
