Hi - was anyone in WDW LAST YEAR in the first week of October?

If so, could you comment on the following:

1. weather
2. crowds
3. MNSSHP crowds
4. special things inducing larger crowds (ha)
5. anything else you can think of?

I know this topic has been somewhat "beaten to death" regarding Oct vs Nov vs Sept, etc., but I am trying to be specific with the questions. Thanks for any insight you all have!!!! :bounce:

Weather - it was hot! A little more than usual, I think. Humidity was up; high temps in the 90's. I ended up sick my last day, I believe due to a comination of the heat and running around like a chicken w/ my head cut off - LOL!

Crowds - most days it was great! Thursday was a zoo in MK because the grand opening of Mission:Space was going on. Epcot closed early, so eveyone went to MK. Also it was the official debut of Wishes that week. The next day it was great at MK, but I ended up leaving between 1 and 2 because I was sick and couldn't walk another step.

We (my sis and I) went to MGM first on Thursday, and it was pretty crowded. They were filming segments w/ the Brady Bunch people for use on the Wayne Brady show and the Disney Christmas parade that day (WB was doing his show that week in Epcot; we went to a taping on Tuesday). We didn;t get to MK until the first Spectro parade was going on (we went Thursday just for Wishes and the second Spectro).

AK and Epcot were very easy to see, even w/ the show taping in Epcot. Only thing we FP'd at Epcot was HISTA (didn't really need one) and M:S wait was I think only 20 min, but we got one anyway). We could have used one for TT, but we just did the singles line instead (5-10 min wait each time).

HTH!

We were there last year from Oct 1-8. We had such a great time, we're planning another trip this year from Sept 25-Oct 3rd.

Weather was great. It was still a little warm at times, but not unbearably so. A really bad storm blew through late one afternoon, but it was nearing park closing anyway and we were heading out. Days were mostly sunny.

Crowds were low compared to other times I have been (Thanksgiving & Christmas). We didn't have to wait very long for anything. Although, it always gets crowded in Fantasyland in MK around 11:00 in the morning through mid afternoon. We did that area early and got out of there to other areas of the park. We had front row seats in Frontierland for the 3:00 parade and didn't have to fight for them. Epcot wasn't very crowded either, but Test Track and Mission Space (which was still a very new attraction)had waits of up to an hour at certain times during the day.

MNSSHP-we went on the night of Oct 3rd, which was the first night. This was outstanding! Very low attendance. We got there about 5:30 and were directed to Tomorrowland. Walked onto Space Mountain (literally walked through and got right into a seat)! We went to Pinocchio's Village Haus for dinner and were the ONLY family in there. My kids had the run of the place! The only thing that there was a long line for was to have picture taken with Cinderella in front of the stagecoach. We decided to skip that. I highly recommend this event....we're going to do this again this year.

Nothing else I can think of really....it was great. I recommend! :D
