First week of Jan. crowds??

Hi,
We will be in orlando the first week of January. How will the crowds at Magic Kingdom and Epcot be? I have heard that during christmas everthing is so packed. Will the crowds be thinner the first week of Jan? Thanks. Tara

We went the first weekend after New Year and our average wait for a ride was 10 min. for non-fastpass attractions and a 1/2 hour with fastpass. I think the longest we waited for a ride was 30 for The Great Movie Ride at MGM because it was the first ride of the day and everyone hit on the same time.

Word of warning: It can get very cool (50's) during January so you might want to bring hats and gloves.

My DH & I went the 1st week of January this year and it was wonderfull. I would pack to dress in layers b/c in the mornings it was pretty cool. Mid-day was wonderful weather wise but by night fall you need a jacket or a sweatshirt again. We only got rain one day and it was cleared up within 1-2 hours, (it was on the day we went to Epcot and it was just first thing in the morning) we had beautiful weather the rest of the trip. Probably Jan. 1st will be the busiest after that it should be pretty slow. We enjoyed the crowds and weather so much that we are going back in January of 2008.
