I had an interesting conversation with one of the reservationist of UO/HRH yesterday... I had called to ask about entertainment rates for the first week of December, 2003 and he quoted me a price that he said was Entertainment rate but it seemed quite high ($334 club level, $185 pool view and $160 standard) so I asked him if there were any better rates with FAN or annual pass holder or any other discount and he told me no the ENT rate was the best rate, and that the rates were so high because it was "peak season" at UO at the time I was asking about!(4 nights beginning December 3rd) I told him I was surprised because I had heard it was a slower time of year, but he maintained that it was in fact "peak season" and that it was because they had special holiday events going on.
I am tempted to cancel my plans to go to UO and just stay at Disney if this is really the case...are the crowds crazy large the first week of December? If so I am in trouble because I convinced my sweet husband to give theme parks another try (he hates crowds and I mistakenly took him to Disney World the week between Christmas and New Years a couple years back).
:earseek:
Any input would be appreciated
by the way... I think this is the first time I have posted (though I am an avid reader:teeth: ) So a quick thanks to all of you who contribute, I have learned a ton from these boards and enjoy just sitting and reading them for fun!

Hm. Odd. The parks are generally not too busy during that time. Plus since you'll be staying at HRH, you'll have the FOTL benefit, so I wouldn't worry too much. The week of Christmas-New Years is ultra heavy.

I was told early December was low season. Is that wrong?

It is slow during the first 2 weeks of Dec. It gets steadily busier after that.

Call back and speak to someone else! Those rates are way too high and are not ER's. I was just quoted $125 a night at RPR standard using Fan Club Card. AP rates were the same. The dates I checked for were Dec 10-16

Those rates have to be wrong...I just called for ressies at Portofino from 12/3-8 and my ER were

club 245
Bay 170
Deluxe 180
Garden 155

You need to call back!

Thanks to every one for their replies so far, I am taking heart! I will get on the phone and call again. I know the front of the line privileges are awesome but my husband just doesn't like the elbow to elbow crowds!

Tink's MOM:: I didn't know Portofino had a club level, is that the same thing as the 7th floor at HRH?

We just changed our travel dates to Dec 4-9 at US and I got 2 rooms at HRH Ent rate of $125/night-I just did this Sunday night. I was told Seuss Landing will be decorated for Christmas and the Grinch will be available, but I found out the Grinchmas Parade with the Macey's floats doesn't start until Dec 12. Anyway, you can't get Club Level with the Ent card, so I think the person you spoke with was wrong-those rates sound more like FAN Club rates.
