First week of Dec. weather?

Anything's possible...was there dec9, 10 11 12 2004. and it was pretty cool most of the times. at night it was downright cold. I say pack a little of everything and hope for the best. :earsgirl:

we were there Dec 3 through 11th.
a few very cold days (jeans/sneakers/long sleeved shirts/sweatshirts) a few warm days (shorts/tank tops/flip flops), some inbetween days.

nights were chilly - we always wore long pants/sneaks or flip flops, tee shirts and sweat shirts.

we did hit a water part one day, and we did swim a few times at night.

so - a bit of everything!

my coworker arrived in WDW the day we got back (the 11th) for a week - she was wearing jeans/long sleeved shirts/sweatshirts/jackets/hats/gloves all week.

it's a great time of year to go though! enjoy!

Yeap, as nluvwithmickey said, anything's possible...I'm going to say to be prepared for anything.

It could be 80 or it could be 60. Just depends on those cold fronts, but you'll probably have to bring clothes for "all seasons". Just keep your eye on the weather the week before you go.

We've had early Decembers where we only needed a light jacket the whole trip for night time, another where it started out humid and warm with rain, turned cold and kept raining but then warmed up to the 70s. Last December some nights were just downright cold! And some were pretty comfortable.

I've gone the first or second week of December the past 7 years. I've seen low 80's and I've seen low 50's for highs. Normal is mid-70's. Very little rain (although one year we got hit with 24 hour heavy rain twice). If the daytime temps are below 70, you really need heavier clothes for night. In 2003 I brought a light winter coat and was glad I had it for evenings. Last year it was warm most days and just needed a jacket and jeans for night.

We were there Dec 3-10 this year, and packed for cold weather (In 1992, we packed for warm weather and ended up paying $100 per coat, per person at DTD...we didn't care, we were freezing...and, I still love that coat)...so, wouldn't you know it...it was HOT!!! WAY too hot for my tastes!!! The highs were right at 85 degrees!!! I sweated the whole trip!! We went to the Dec 9th MVMCP, and the cast members were having a difficult time giving the "hot chocolate" away!!

A cold-front came thru on the 10th of December on our way to the airport. Wouldn't you know it...we're from Phoenix....we wanted COLD!!! Of course, all the people from Minnesota were thrilled!!! Oh well, can't please everyone!!

We were there last year from Dec. 3rd through the 11th and it was a little cool. If you are trying to pack light, what we did was to wear jeans and a short sleeve shirt during the day time and packed a sweater for the evening times in case it got cool.

If you go this way you will be just fine.

Have a great day

I was there the morning of the MVMCP '03 taping and I think it was only in the high 30's.:cold: We didn't swim at all that trip and we're from the north. I'm going Dec. '06 and I'm hoping to learn from the past.

I'll....
bring my winter coat instead of leaving it in the car at the airport
stay far from MK on the 1st Sat. of Dec.(the taping of MVMCP is mobbed)
pray that pop warner is the week after I leave(it's usually the first full week in Dec.meaning the 4th - 10th:rolleyes: .)

It is beautiful to go that time of year and see the decorations in the hotels, MVMCP at night, CP at Epcot and it just gets you into the Christmas spirit!

We have been twice in early December. Once the weather was great and we could swim - high 70's. Another year it was cold and very windy with lows in the 30's. We didn't swim once. We had to buy hats and mittens. We plan to go in early November this year as the weather is warmer then.

We are discussing going mid dec. Have never been at xmas time before and I am a bit apprehensive. I enjoy the flower and garden festival in april as I love all the flower displays, and the warm temperatures, however I have read good things about xmas decorations and parades at wdw and I think we should give it a go. :confused3 If I get one or two days of swimming weather I would be happy.

We were there from Dec.3-13 this past year and found the weather to be perfect--locals were saying it was unseasonably warm-in the late 70-early 80's.
Mind you when the sun :sunny: went behind clouds it got quite chilly!
It never got so cold that we didn't enjoy ourselves-we went to Typhoon for 2 days and it was great! The only time we found it hard to handle was on the 11th in the evening, it was cold and there was a wind blowing :cold: :cold: ---we thought we were back in Canada :teeth:
