We are going to US for one day on 10-31 and also doing HHN.. Will be able to do all the rides and still have times for characters? What is the crowds like at this time of year? Also I have read where we have to go to a holding area after US closes and wait for HHn to open, how does that work, etc.. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also is there anything we will need to know or is there a dont miss attraction we have to do. Thanks everyone..

During the day, you should have plenty of time to do pretty much whatever you want...rides and characters included. Crowds won't start to get noticeable until later in the day as people arrive for HHN.

As far as the holding area goes...you will go to Delancey Street which is where Finnegan's is located around 5pm when the park closes to day guests. You will see the barricades already set up. The attendants will scan your HNN ticket and let you in. Try to get there early so you can find a nice place to sit...otherwise you'll have to stand. Around 6pm the barricades will be moved and you will be led to the S & S house this year...Winter's Night.

After that...you're on your own.

Hellow newbie,welcome to the darkside!!:thumbsup2

About your questions. The 31'st is Monday,so the crowd level will be minimal. You should have no problems doing and seeing everything. The rides and shows will have short wait times. The holding area for HHN is at the New York area,Delancy St.,just ask any TM they will tell ya were its at.What they do is clear the park out at 5pm,if you have the hard ticket to HHN you will waite in the holding area. They will release ya like 1/2hour before they open the gates to the public. This will let ya see 3 soundstage houses with almost no wait. After that put your walking shoes on and walk realy fast to the other houses.

For the must see show,DON'T MISS THE Horror Makeup Show. You will thank me later...

Thaks everyone for the tips. We ended getting the express pass for HHN because we wanted to be sure to see every house and scare zone since we are going once and its halloween. Is Halloween night usuallyh busy?

It's hard to say if it will be busy but in my past experience, Halloween night isn't that crowded compared to the previous weekend...but again...it's hard to say.
