First visit to Universal since I was 14

Tickets are purchased and hotel room reserved! I can't wait. I can finally rest from research. I've been obssessed with it for the past 2 weeks. Seems funny I spend more time planning than the trip actually lasts.. I can already feel the sadness of it being over coming over me. I just need to use it as motivation to plan more trips more often.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Main Gate to Universal (think that's the official title, lol) and it was just a great location. There is a rather large street to cross, but it's a pretty short walk to the parks, and the walk over is beautiful.. you walk right past the water and boats going to the Universal hotels...it's a nice peaceful walk that helped us relax before descending into the crowds

Have an awesome time on your trip! I've been going to US since I was probably 6. I'm 24 now, and it's still my favorite place in the world.

We didn't wind up staying there, but we are still close enough to walk if we wanted. I'll probably drive just because my wife and son have little tolerance for that sort of thing once they get tired.

14 days away from our big/small trip.

Any other tips we need to know? Any places we should reserve a head of time for dining? Must eat places? I'm 31 my wife is 30 and our child is 5.

We'll be leaving the 24th and coming back the 27th. I'm thinking we hit IOA day 1, and US day 2, and the 3rd day, do a combination of the things we liked at both parks again.

What are some fun things to do at night outside of the park that are close by after the park closes? (family friendly)
