We just got back 4 days ago! Great trip. We had the 5 day hopper. Stayed across the street at The Anaheim Hotel. Our first couple of days we concentrated on all the attractions that weren't in WDW or were different than the WDW version, like Pirates. I was crushed that Space Mtn and HM were closed for Halloween makeover. We left on 13th and they were opening on 15th :worried:. Loved what they did to ToT!! Guardians is amazing. Cars Land was so much fun. POTC is so much better in DL. And we ate lunch at Blue Bayou. So cool.
We did the World of Colour dessert party. Really good. Since we were putting in full park days, I was glad to sit at a table! And not have to stand an hour getting a spot, then have the person in front of me put his child on his shoulders blocking the view of everyone behind him. For us it was worth the splurge for the party.

Loved riding the railroad around the entire loop. So many different scenes you pass. We got soaked on Splash Mtn! I wasn't expecting to get sooooo wet! In WDW you only get a little wet but since it was in the 90's we were ok with it!
I wish they had a big coaster in WDW! California Screaming was great!!

Many of the Halloween decorations were out. Every day we'd notice new things put out. The front of CA Halloween decorations was really cool. And Carsland!

It was fun to see how many of the DL & CA theming could be seen at WDW. DHS entrance is exactly like CA. We ate at The Grand Californian White Water a couple of days for lunch so I could see it, and it's a nice place to get out of the heat. It reminded me of WL.

We bought Maxipass. It worked well, except they need to improve park wifi for this. We don't live in the US, so for those that don't have US cell phones must have a roaming plan to utilize MaxPass service. You get photopass with this too. It was fun getting the ride Photos at CA, DL didn't have many ride photos. Don't know why. I kept thinking the big snake on Indy would have been a great ride photo spot!!

Funny we live on the west coast but always go to WDW. We had a great time in DL/CA and will be back!

Glad you had fun! I'm sure a lot has changed in 35 years. The earliest time I still "remember" going was about 33 years ago.

Lots of changes! I still remember E. tickets! And don't remember the Matterhorn being so rough, lol. That's what 35 more years will to the body!!

I wish 6 or 7 day tickets were offered which would have allowed a more relaxed pace.

I'm glad you had a great time. I love DW too, but since FP+ I just don't enjoy it as much. I can't stand picking my FP+ 2 months in advance. I love the flexability of DL. Although I love Space at DW so much more than DL, which is not the popular opinion. I usually don't go to DL when it is hot, so I do wish you didn't get quite so soaked on Splash.

Well, I usually go to WDW in August so at least DL wasn't as humid!! And I can finally see my ankles again :P they swell up so much in the heat!

I vaguely remember the tickets. I think when I was 10 years old admission was only $10 or $12 and then you bought ticket books. There was actually a half used ticket book still at my parents' house for the longest time(they never throw anything away) but I couldn't find it last time I looked.
