We own at SSR, and have stayed at SSR, BWV, and OKW. This year, we're staying at VWL because of the proximity to Magic Kingdom and the amazing atmosphere of the hotel. We ate at Whispering Canyon last year and loved it. My 6 yr-old DS couldn't get over the grandeur of the "Lincoln Log" hotel
.
I would say that although the points value at OKW is excellent, I found the amenities lacking. I did like the lushness of the grounds, but for the way my family vacations, it was too low key for us.
The other posters are right-go for a 1BR at a hotel you think your fiance would enjoy for the way he likes to vacation. If he's a low-key guy, he might really enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of OKW and the large size of the room. If he likes to be near the action, maybe SSR or BWV would be more his taste. If he's a rustic kind of guy and loves the outdoors, then VWL is perfect.
There's something for everyone at WDW!
