First of all, thank you for any help/advice you might be able to give me.

I'm going to my very first visit to DLP the beginning of September. I was planning on going Monday, Sept. 5th because all the guide books say Monday is the best day to go on. But, on Sunday, the 4th, the park will be open an additional 4 hours. Is it worth it to go on Sunday (the "worst" day according to the guidebooks) for the extra time? Or is it better to have less time, and possibly less crowds?

Thank you!

I'd definately go less crowds! You could spend 2 hours in a queue on Sunday, but only 20 minutes on Monday so you get a lot more done, and with a lot less fighting through crowds!

id definatley wait until monday also.

sept is a wonderful time to travel, i went last year and we had 5 gloriously warm and sunny days. and the queues were very short for most of the rides. apart from toystory land and crush's coaster which were very very busy and waiting times were an hour all week. but a lot of the rides were walk ons.

That Sunday is the last day of the school holidays here in France (and I guess in a lot of the other neighbouring countries) so there will be lots of people having a last family day out before school starts

The Monday will be way quieter and you will get more done even with the shorter opening hours :)

Hi there,
just to let you know in case you're going on the 5th and you are thinking about purchasing annual passports we can offer you a 10% discount from sponsorship. :D

Depends how much you want to see the fireworks and Fantillusion as I think 4th September is the last day of the summer season.

If they don't matter to you I'd go for the Monday!

HTH

We were in DLP yesterday (Saturday), and I have never seen so many people in the park. Major queuing, people bumping into each other, kids unhappy. Apparently, the french go to the parks at the weekend. I am sure Sunday is just as bad.

IMO if I had a choice then go on Monday and I am sure you will have a great time. :thumbsup2

Another vote here for Monday. We went over the weekend on our recent trip (Fri to Mon) and Sunday was by far the busiest day. On others days the queue for minor ride were 10-15 mins/busy rides 30-40 mins. Where as on Sunday even large capacity rides like Pirates were showing 40 mins.

Keep in mind though that this is Summer Season norm, and it does get quiter towards the end of the season.

As mentioned, the Sunday is the last day of Summer at DLP, though to be honest, most UK children have already gone back (Scotland most definitely and most of England the term starts on the 1st Sept, with a few schools having teacher training but they will be back on the Monday).

If you are able to stay until the very last moment (11pm closing and fireworks) then if you want to experience DLP at it's best, I would personally choose the Sunday. If you are limited in time and can not stay beyond 7, go for Monday. You will never be able to get every ride done no matter what people say on here, but you will be able to soak it all in and make a mental list of what you would like to do when you return...because you will!!!

So weigh up the time you have to spare in the park, if it's possible to stay late, go for Sunday (you will also be able to see the Tarzan show which still hasn't be confirmed it will return next year yet) or Monday if you just want to see the park. My choice would defo be Sunday (I'm there the week before and am intending on not sleeping :lmao:
