First Visit! Need help picking date in August!

Hi, All! Super excited to visit DLR for the first time in August. We visit San Diego every year, recently became Disney obsessed, so we will be leaving the kids with my parents to drive up and explore the parks!

But, we need help from the experts! We can come up Sunday the 11th which is during D23 or Tuesday the 13th which is after Magic Key blockouts are lifted. Which day would you choose and why? We plan to buy park hopper tickets and lightning lane multi passes, and will be there for rope drop but leaving before dark. Thanks in advance for your help and insight!

Either time is going to be busy. I would probably opt for D23. People that may normally be at Disneyland will be at D23 on the Sunday. Those that came in special for D23 may stay a few days after to go to Disneyland which means they could be there the 13th. I think it is a crap shoot either way however so I would just pick what works best for you.

Also, there may be less traffic for your drive on the weekend.

I agree. I think most D23 attendees will be busy with D23 events on Sunday.

Are you sure you are reading the MK calendars correctly? The dates with a grey slash through them are blocked out. A small grey circle with a line through it means that there are no reservations available for that pass at this time.

The three highest Magic Keys are valid for both dates. The lowest Magic Key is only valid 8/13 out of your dates.

I would probably choose the Sunday but both days will likely be busy.
