W will be going to both parks w/our kids 5 and 7, one each day in Sept. Is it possible to do a park in a day?? I have looked for info like crowd calendars, park hours and rehabs for when we will be there, but have not found any.
Are there any out there???

Yes, especially in September. A third day wouldn't hurt, though, to redo favorites or take in the little things.

I've not seen crowd calendars for Universal before either.

Thread dedicated to rehab info: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2092006

Hours info direct from Universal website: http://www.universalorlando.com/Resort_Information/theme_park_hours.aspx

The Universal website has the park hours on it. For most nights in Sept, IOA is open until 7pm and for the Studios, most nights it is open until 6. However, the hours do change (Studios closing at 5 some nights) during the month, so check out the main website.

As far as rehabs, nothing has been posted yet. They will be posted on the Universal website as well (normally under the park hours for each park).

If you are going down on a HHN event day, DO NOT do the event with your kids ages. This is nothing like the one at Disney, so stay away from it.

You will have no issues doing a park a day, however I suggest spending a little extra and getting the park hopper option. This way you can go and do your favorites from the first day a 2nd time if you have time left over. Also, it will allow you to end your day at IOA both nights since that park is open later.

Yes...you can do each park in a single day in September. The best way to gauge crowds is to look at the pricing chart for Express Plus passes. The higher the price the higher the anticipated crowd for that day. Rehabs aren't generally made public unless something is obviously going on with the attraction. The schedule is usually listed in the park hours page:

http://www.universalorlando.com/Resort_Information/theme_park_hours.aspx

There is nothing listed as of now. Keep checking back.

This cannot be stressed enough.

Aside from that, September is usually slow after Labor Day. Lines rarely hit 30 mins (Harry Potter and Rockit often exceed this, fwiw). Jimmy Neutron will be closed, as it is being turned into Despicable Me. Fear Factor will probably be closed to become Bill & Ted.

Definitely consider 1-park per day so you can do as much as you can. Utilize the child swap for the rides that your 5 y/o isn't able to ride due to height.

Thanks for all the great advice and keep it coming! What is HHN? Both kids are verticcally challenged (as are their parents :confused3) being only 42 and 45 inches so We have been checking on what we can and can't do with them.. both are FEARLESS :scared1:
Thanks so much for the help :grouphug:

HHN is Halloween Horror Nights. Probably the quickest way to lose that "fearless" adjective for them. ;)

There is no height limits for HHN but it's not an event for children under the age of 14 or so. Some kids can do in your face gore and scares but a lot can't. HHN tickets are not cheap so it's really up to you as to whether you think your kids could handle it. This will be my eighth year doing HHN and I've seen little kids...in strollers there which really irritates me. But anyway...if you think your kids can handle it and you want to pay the money, go for it but I don't recommend it.

I should use paragraphs!!!
HHN does not sound like it is for us at all!
The kids are fearless about thrill rides, roller coasters, etc. That is what I was referring to, but they can get scared watching scooby doo! :lmao:
thanks for the warning

now for more ?'s
at which park do they have HHN?
We are thinking of UI of A on a sunday and US on a thur, hours 9-5, does this early closing time mean its HHN?

Will UI of A be much more crowded on a Sunday or not as much since it is a travel day?

thoughts welcome and appreciated

To make things simpler use IOA and USF when referring to the parks. Less typing for you! :)

HHN is normally at USF and on HHN nights, the park will close at 5. There will be props visible for pictures, but no scary people (they'll be backstage getting into makeup/costume). Sundays are significantly slower. If you do IOA on a Sunday and USF on a Thursday, you'll have plenty of time. IOA is usually open until 7 on HHN dates.

1. Universal Studios, not IoA.
2. Yes, i believe so.
3. I think most Sundays in September should see relatively light crowds.

I used to be one of those "Fearless" short, SHORT(58 inches and 20 years young) children... what am I talking about (short that is, now I jump at the sight of a lizard) and I would never do HHN. Nope not uh not me.
