First Uber Eats order - delayed about 90 minutes

This is why I don't get why these delivery apps are so popular. It's one thing to have like a big family meal delivered - things like pizza, chinese food (the traditionally delivered items) - but having a Big Mac delivered just economically doesn't work - not for me anyway!

It doesn't work economically for anyone involved. Not the restaurant, not the app, and not the drivers. I think many of these apps thought they were just going to be either able to strong arm drivers much more than they do already and/or do the same to the businesses, or that self driving cars would be quick to come to pass and they'd be rid of their drivers.

During covid we did a lot of take out. The restaurants usually give themselves a cushion on time. So if they say 30 minutes I would be there at 20 to get it hot and fresh. Really do not get the delivery thing. Waiting for cold food and paying more. Frankly I like to get out of the house
