Hello everyone

Im planning my first trip ever to Disneyworld for the value season of 2006.
I just got started and looking for some tips and adivice of when to pay for this.
This will be for a family of four 2 adults and 2 kids age 8 and 16 at time of trip.

Im not rich and was hoping to spend about $2500-$2800 for the whole trip including airfare from Pittsburg, Hotel, and Tickets and food am i being unreasonable in my budget, for a week long trip can do up to 7 days if it is cheaper.
My question is has anyone from this area or equall distance done a trip for about this price.
what are the really thrity spenders spending lol

THANKS
KEITH

It can be done...I'm heading out on the 25th for 12 nights. We're a family of 4 (1 child, 1-10+) staying at Pop and got the free dining plan and a 10 day park hopper. My whole trip with air will be about $2500.

Watch Southwest for $49 flights  :Pinkbounc

Hello from another new member.

As for the cost, check also for package deals that include airfare. I usually fly Southwest (my fav), but one trip I did do the package deal with Delta (thru Disney Vacations) cause at the time it actually was cheaper than SW!. But agree you need to check with SW. If you have their DING program, it has some really great daily deals, just need to check everyday as it changes. I am waiting for the March window to open.

Also I have used SW Vacations. Got a good deal in 2004 (granted I am a solo traveler) where if you booked I think it was up to 5 nights you got 2 more nights free.

Not sure when you are exactly planning, but the earlier you book, rooms etc, the better, you can always do the air later, when you find a good deal.

Thanks for all the great replies everyone this is really a great board.
lots of help around here . I have learned a lot from reading the post and decided i think i should still wait a till later to start booking reservations as there are no specials for 2006 as of yet like the free dinning plan some got this year that would be great.

THANKS

We are a family of 4 and our trip is about in your price range:

Airfair: $867
Hotel: $523
Ticket: $756

Total: $2146
( I have to say, in our case, we got a better deal booking our hotel and airfare separately rather than a package. It saves about $100 )

and then we are bringing about $800 on spending cash.
We did get a room with a kitchenette, so we are doing bfast in the room, as well as bringing all of our own snacks. I budgeted about $100 per day for our trip, with a little cushion to cover airport parking and souvenirs.

Good luck!
