My wife and I and our 12 year old daughter are all booked for WDW from July 22-29. This is our first time and we are really looking forward to it. We will be staying at POP resort.

I hope your family has a fantastic time! Welcome to the Disboards, prepare to be addicted!:lmao:

Welcome to the Dis! Research here and ask all kinds of questions. It will help you prepare for your trip. ;) Hope you have a wonderful, magical vacation!

I love Pop Century! I've been to Disneyworld twice, and stayed there both times, and staying again this summer!

Have a great trip! Pop is a fun resort, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Just curious...how long is the flight from where you live?

Welcome to the DIS! In case you've not considered it, have you thought about going during the free dining promotion, perhaps at the end of August before school starts?

HALF THE FUN IS IN THE PLANNING! ANY QUESTIONS AND WE WILL BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO ANSWER! MY GRANDAUGHTER IS THE SAME AGE AS YOUR DAUGHTER SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOU CAN PM ME AND YOUR DAUGHTER CAN ASK QUESTIONS THAT ONLY MY GRANDDAUGHTER WOULD HAVE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THAT AGE GROUP. HAVE FUN PLANNING!:thumbsup2

For your first trip I'd suggest keeping it simple but by all means find out all you can ahead of time. I'd suggest the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World."

Try to get to the parks early and head for the pool/room during the heat of the day. For a NWTer it'll be waaayyyy too hot. Head out again in the cool of the evening.

You will not do or see it all so just relax and soak up the magic and realize another trip will be needed to get what you missed this time. ;)

Oh and if you'd like to make Dinner reservations do it very soon as you're well within your 90 day window.

Have a great time!:yay:

We have made all of our dining reservations. Unfortunately we couldn't go after the end of July otherwise it would have been nice to get the free dining. We have also reserved the Disney Express. We will be eating at the 50's Primetime Cafe, Sci-Fi Theatre, Raglan Road, Le Cellier, Tusker House, Liberty Tree Tavern and Plaza Restaurant. We also got a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Disney World.
Thanks for all your kind remarks and comments. I'm sure I will have some questions.

LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE THE PLANNING WELL UNDER WAY, HAVE DONE ALL BUT THE PLAZA AND ENJOYED ALL THE OTHERS YOU HAVE PICKED! DID YOU SAY IT WAS A FIRST TIME TRIP. LOL YOU SEEM TO BE A PRO! GOT THE BOOK AND ALL ! HAPPY COUNTDOWN !:cool1:

Well done! As the pp said you're well on your way to having a fantastic vacation. By the way, you're going to several of my favourite restaurants.

CONGRATS!!!!! a first trip is so exciting.

Do as much research, before hand, as you possible can. It truely makes for a better vacation. Our first onsite, WDW only trip we just sort of showed up and hung out. Since then I got hooked on travel research and it is amazing how different a holiday is when you are backed by lots of info. Sounds like you have that well under way.

Keep reading the boards and asking questions. Guaranteed someone here can give you an answer as well as insider tips.

another book i recomend: passporters guide to disney world. i just picked one up on saturday- weve been a bunch of times but never with kids, and its helped me so much! it also has pull out maps and places to put small souvienrs etc in the back.

the 50's primetime cafe-we ate there in 05 and loved it!!! just make sure you eat your veggies!!!!

Hi trl1812

Just curious why did you choose POP? I'm curious about how you decided on that resort.

A.

We love POP!

We've stayed at all the mods at least once and visited every Disney resort for meals and a walk about.

POP was special. Can't put my finger on it....we just love it!

We are going back to POP in July too!

Caribbean Beach Resort was a home for a looooooong time, but POP might have just over taken it!

My kids 15 and 9 love it too!

ENJOY!

Blessings, Sandra
