We are planning our trip to WDW and decided to add on a few days to US/IOA since the kids are older now. I have a few questions I am hoping you can help me with...

We are thinking about 2 days at Us and IOA and then the remaining 8 days at WDW. Is 2 days more than enough for both parks - there will be 5 of us - myself, DH, DS 9, DD 7, DD 5. Do we need to add an additional day? Only use one day?

We are planning the trip for the first week in May (for 10 days). Do you think we need to stay at an onsite resort to get the FOTL passes at this time of the year? We always stay onsite at WDW (AKL, WL, ASM, POR) so would we be greatly disappointed if we didn't here?

Would we be better off making our resort reservation at WDW and just renting a car to get over to US/IOA for a couple of days? Obviously, WDW has a lot more going on at night - would we be better off extending our WDW pass to 10 days (it is such a minimal cost) and staying onsite so we can goto US during the day and then return to WDW for the evening?

Would you recommend the 2 days of US/IOA at the beginning of the trip? We are thinking of arriving on a Monday night and going to US/IOA on Tuesday and Wednesday. What do you think about that set up?

I feel like I know so much about WDW and have researched and experienced so much there that is it almost "difficult" to think about planning a few days at US/IOA. I almost feel like it is easier to just skip it and just do what we always do at WDW. Please help me gain the confidence to add these days to our trip!

I would highly recommend, Staying On-Site and Using FOTL. I have never been in May so I don't know the Crowds. Two Days with FOTL is easy to see both parks with some chances to get back an re ride some of the family favorites. With Citywalk there are things to do at Universal at Night Also. Many restuarants and Shops. Night Clubs may not be for the young crowd. Also all of the Resort pools are very nice. Check the USF internet site they have some very nice ticket packages that you may want to extend to your stay to three days without increasing the cost. Also, if you pick up an AP Pass you may be able to get about $ 300.00 Savings for three night hotel which will offset the cost of an AP pass. Also I believe they have a special going on with (1) Kids free pass for every adult pass purchased. You have many options. I would suggest going to Universal first, That way you have the option of extending your stay at Universal

Have fun and enjou

On the other hand, if you stay on site, FOTL will really spoil you and you might have a hard time going back to the lines at Disney. Whether you go first or last though, I would definately take the time to visit Universal/IOA...you won't be disappointed.

We are arriving in Orlando on 10/26 for 7 days for our first trip to the area. COming from Plattsburgh, NY........roughly 350 miles as the crow flies north of NYC!! Anyone have any info about the Comfortsuites Orlando hotel on a street called Turkey Lake Rd? With SO many to pick from this one seemed pretty good for the rate!!
Also, have 5 days tickets for USF/IOA..........can you really stretch it out for that many days??

THanks

I'd think two days for US/IOA would be plenty. We did just that with 4 of us. In fact we easily did IOA in less than one day, doing every ride. Don't know about thier resorts though.

We got the US/IOA tickets for 2 days and got 3 days free!! IS it possible to spend 5 days in those parks??

This is our first time down there!!!

Is it possible to take 5 days for Universal/IOA or is it a case of too much of a good thing??!!
