We only have one day that we can go to Universal. From looking at all of the rides offered at each park I'm assuming we need to pick one or the other. Is that correct or do you think it would be crazy to think we could spend half our day in one park and half our day in the other? Do the lines get crazy in the afternoon there like they do at Disney? I have looked at what each park has to offer and it is hard to pick which one b/c of course they both offer things that my boys would love.

If you've got a full day then it would still be possible to get the best out of both parks.

Firstly decide what you really want to see in both parks and then I would suggest if you have, for example, more you want to do in Islands of adventure then start the day in there.

What I do when I'm going is IOA first because their queues seem to get quite mad quite quickly.

The other thing I would suggest is considering an Express Plus pass for the park you do in the afternoon; that way minimising the queues as much as you possibly can. It would probably be worth it if you've only got the one day.

Check out the website and see which attractions you really want to do and then decide which park makes more sense. Just for pure enjoyment, I would stick with one park especially if you're going this summer because of the crowds. If you aren't going until the fall, you might be OK do a 1/2 and 1/2 day since the crowds should be considerably less after school starts again.
