Woe- how exciting. My #1 suggestion is to bring/rent a golf cart - DH and I ended up buying one after being at the Fort and seeing all the people having an absolute blast on them- you don't have to walk anywhere and you get up-front parking at the Marina and TrailsEnd. It's just a blast.
Have fun!!!
We're arriving June 4th also. There are some reallly great tips all throughout this board. My personal favorite is to get a golf cart when staying at the Fort.
I hope you have a very safe and enjoyable vacation at Fort Wilderness! It is truly a 'Great' family vacation spot that is loved by many as you can tell by the posts from the members of this forum! Rest, Relax and Enjoy!!!
We stay for AT LEAST 2 weeks every Christmas holiday season! You are going to love it! I agree with the golf cart suggestion - though they are= ricey - at least get one for part of your trip.
Remember that there is no counter servce so bringing food to cook for breakfasts and lunches are important if you will be in your camper or cabin. Trails End is a good buffet for dinner. Not the best at Disney, but good. They do have a take out menu but it is not so great and if you are staying a long way from the resturant it can be a hassle.
My husband did the Segway Tour at FW last December and said it was one of the highlights of the trip. It is 3 hours or so and happens in the morning when it should be cooler as you are going in June. Just a thought.
Finally, take advantage of the boat to the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary. Much more pleasant and quicker than the buses. The boat also goes to WL.
