First Trip to DL - solo (COMPLETE) new link p.43

What a fantastic past two days! A guided park tour and lunch at Club 33 with Alison and then a tour of Walt's Apartment?! It looks and sounds like you had such an amazing time.

The whole trip was one amazing thing after another. But the highlights were spending time with you and Alison, that was so much fun :)

She doesn't like beans either! :sad2: We went out for Mexican the last night and she got double rice! :rotfl2: Nachos probably aren't her favorite, but someday I'll have to try them!

 I'm quite picky about certain things, I know.

Thank you Alison for information re Pirates etc that was really interesting! :-) hope you are both feeling better.

Looks like 2015 for Expo then!

Pam ...Jo won't let us start Once upon a time yet until we finish Breaking Bad dvd boxse :-( she is slightly ocd about it lol. Me I can watch loads of shows at the same time like books. My kindle has lots on the go! Maybe I will watch it whilst she is at work and fein surprise at what unfolds when watching together lol..

Hope you are having a good day!

The tour looks fun! :thumbsup2 Jolly Holliday twice? Too funny.

I couldn't believe the coincidence, both meals were very tasty though so it was no hardship.

I am just loving all of your photos and descriptions- feels like I'm there.

Thank you :goodvibes

Did you use the Peter Pan FP?

Oh yes, couldn't let that go to waste. Should have the next update posted this weekend.

I remember looking at So Cal weather that week and it was a hot one.

It was a scorcher!

We have used those exact grills twice at the GCV. Once we did burgers but forgot the ketchup and went on a search. Storytellers Cafe ended up giving us these tiny bottles of ketchup and mustard.

Those bottles sound too cute! How nice they had some. That grill area was really nice.

Love WWS especially their chicken nachos. I know you don't do meat but they've got tons of beans and pics, cheese and sour cream. You must try them next time. We Tae them three times during one trip.

I do love nachos popcorn:: the ship has a great nacho bar on pirate night.

And I agree the GCV pool loungers are heaven!

I couldn't get over how nice they were. I think longingly of those loungers often!

OK, I found my pics from Walt's Apartment. They were already uploaded on photobucket, the Dream Suite might take a while as I need to find and upload the pics.

This was Walt's side of the apartment

The front of the apartment facing the square

Lillian's side of the Apartment

This is one of Walt's favorite drinks that was made on the counter below.

The Lamp

There is an old Victrola in the apartment and this is one of the cylinders that it uses.

An authentic phone

This little staircase went up to the patio overlooking the square

Here is the patio

And back in the apartment

Stunning pictures, Alison. I think I remember seeing them in another thread of yours. That was the first time I even heard of guests being allowed in there. Now, it is on my Disneyland bucket list.

Uh oh! I hope there's not too much of Breaking Bad to go! I'm the same as you, can have several books/shows going at the same time. I like your idea, she'll never know :stir:

Alison, thanks so much for posting those pictures!

Not sure how Tom & Jerry would taste but I'd try it.

I left off with finishing a lovely meal with surprisingly enjoyable companions after our Walk in Walt’s Footstep’s Tour. It was 6:15 when we parted ways and the park closed at 7:00. I wanted to use my Peter Pan FP so headed to Fantasyland right away.

I got distracted by the Sleeping Beauty walk through. It was on my list and no time was better than the present so I headed in.

They had books like this throughout so you could read the story. I had just watched the movie before my trip which I was quite glad for at the moment.

I was in there mostly on my own and it was a bit creepy at times.

None of my other pictures inside turned out, it was quite dark in there. I thought this was a cute touch at the end.

Make it BLUE!

No, PINK!

Quite enjoyable, definitely take the time for this when you’re at DL.

Then on to Peter Pan to use my FP. A pity I didn’t have 5 other guests with me.

I tried to soak in all the differences, absolutely love this ride at both parks, it’s up there on my favorites list.

Then onto Pinocchio which was closed the day before.

Which was a walk on

And such a cute ride!!! I know I said this before but all the rides at DL felt longer than the ones at WDW.

Then Snow White which is right next door, also a walk on

Scary little dungeon area

Oh how I’d love to see where those stairs go!

Wow do they not account for present day sized people in the queue areas. The area to the right where you see people is SO TIGHT!

Again, a very cute and well done ride. The details were fabulous. This was totally different than the one they had at WDW and is now gone. I prefer this one much more.

I still had time, so I jumped on Toad’s Wild Ride again. Enjoyed it just as much as the day before, but I really don’t remember some of the scenes being in the movie.

It was 6:50 when I finished my Wild Ride, and I wondered if I could make it to Pooh. I looked at the map and thought in my mind it might be possible so I hoofed it over to Critter Country, taking pictures the entire way. How could I not! (sorry most of these are slightly blurry, I didn't have the big camera which is the good one for taking pictures on the go)

I felt clever finding a shortcut on the side of the castle, it might have shaved off a few minutes walking.

I had found the new Fantasy Faire area which was super cute.

I passed Maurice’s food cart which held a treat that was high on my list. No time to stop now, but I would be back later I told the CM!

Continuing on my mission

Looks like most everybody was gone for the night but I was still going to try to get to Pooh.

Looks like I didn’t get a picture of the plaque this evening, hopefully I did later because I really want to read it myself…

I’m getting close!

I took this picture at 6:57, whew!

Loved all the queue details

I’m pretty sure I shared a honeycomb

It’s a heffalump!

Loved the ride, it has a few different details than the one at WDW but for the most part it is the same.

That heffalump was too cute!!! I wish they had them as plush, I would definitely buy one.

7:02 when I got out of the ride so the park was technically closed, no more rides. So I just took my time and meandered out of the park.

I was a bit obsessed with the Dream Suite, seems like I took a picture every time I passed it….

I’d be back to explore the tree house

DCA closed at 8:00 so I figured I’d head in and try to catch one ride, but there was a special AP event that evening and the lines to get in went more than half way across the courtyard.

Instead I walked through DTD

I walked through here where I found the cutest t-shirts, but they were $30 each, I left empty handed. I headed back to the room with thoughts of soaking in the hot tub for a while.

Up to the room where I changed into my suit, grabbed my journal and headed down to the pool. I contemplated going up to the observation deck to watch WoC but I just didn’t have the energy. My bones were aching and I wanted a soak. This was the exact reason I should have booked a 1BR but I acted too slow on that thought and they were all booked. When I first went down to the pool there were tons of people in both hot tubs so I found a lounger and started to journal the day. A short time later one was empty, and I quickly jumped in. I had the place to myself for a good 20 minutes which was fabulous. The water was very hot, just the way I like it.

I tore myself out of the tub and retired to my lounger where I caught up the rest of the day. I thought about going to DTD for some dinner but that thought was short lived, I also thought about checking out what Whitewater had for dinner options but I had gotten quite cold so just headed up to the room at 9:30. I quickly took a scalding hot shower and was comfortable again. I had a dinner of champions which consisted of my sugar cookie from the tour and some pizza combos I had brought with me.

I watched an episode of Once Upon a Time and called it a night shortly after 11:00.

Pam - what a great day all the way around. I love how you ended the evening with all the classics. I can't believe you were able to ride so many rides in such a short time. Perfection.

I also like the way you ended the night with a soak in the tub and a perfectly lovely sugar cookie.

Great update!

I couldn't believe my luck with no lines, it was awesome! Everything in DL's Fantasyland is so close together, I left one and went to another. :dance3:

I was glad I didn't just go up to the room, it was so lovely sitting by the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. And that sugar cookie was mighty tasty!

Great update!

Thanks! :)

I'm sure I've said this but isn't Disneyland's Fantasyland the best? I just love it so much. You got to do so much in that last 45 minutes. :cheer2: The Castle Walk-thru is one of my favorites. It was closed for a long time post 9/11.

The cookie looks yum!

I think the closeness of everything at DLR is what I love most. I know it means that it seems squishy; but you can get through a lot when the park is empty. Seems like you managed exactly that. :goodvibes

Love the sugar cookie.

I fell in love with DL's Fantasyland, the details were so gorgeous! I really liked the walk through, so unique. I had remembered that it was closed at some point so was very glad to find it open.

The cookie was very delicious, I was surprised.

Love the sugar cookie.

That's what I loved too, everything being so close together. Im heading to WDW in December and really don't like having to factor in an hour or more to get places.
