First Trip to Disneyland!

My fiance and I have been to Disney World several times but are planning a trip out to Disneyland for next fall. We planned on going at the end of September/ beginning of October. We will be there for 4 days and will be getting the park hopper. Here are a few questions we have.

1)How is the weather at this time of year?

2 How are the crowd levels?

3) Which Disneyland hotel would you stay at, or would you recommend staying off resort at a Good Neighbor hotel?

4) We will be flying into John Wayne Airport in Orange County so we can take the Magical Express to the resort. We will be departing from the airport in Long Beach. What is the best method of transportation from the hotel to the Long Beach? How expensive are the cab rides?

5) Will the parks be decorated for Halloween by then?

If your planning to enjoy Disneyland, stay @ DL hotel or Grand Californian. IMHO, Paradise Pier is "just a hotel". DL is NOT WDW, it's very special in it's own way. Call the hotel you decide on for transportation info, they are very helpful, even with general price of transport. Plan on a pool day or something else for Sat or Sunday, LOTS of local AP holders. They visit both parks frequently & typically on weekends.

Go on all the rides! Space Mountain is so cool in DL! Pirates is different! Eat @ Blue Bayou! See about dining for World of Color! Only seen the video so far, but it looks awesome & also planning a trip to see it!

Many WDW vets who only stay at Disney hotels in Orlando stay at off-site hotels at DLR.

Whatever you do I think walking distance hotels are the way to to go.
