Hi everyone, can you help please?! My friend and I are having a girls break (!!) and taking our kiddies to DLP in May (Saturday-Monday), kiddies are 3, 5, 6 and 12. We are staying at Explorers. Firstly, we are completely overwhelmed with the choice of restaurants . Can you recommend a couple of good ones for the little ones. They would obviously love to meet the characters but are these places really really expensive? Is Cafe Mickey worthwhile for lunch or dinner. It is my 3 year old's birthday - do they do a birthday cake here or other places? Is it better to book for lunch or an early dinner? I've heard The Steakhouse is good for Sunday brunch. Do they do a character meet there? Is this better value than Cafe Mickey? We only want to do one Character Meet really if they are very pricey so could you recommend a good cheaper restaurant for the other days.

Also, is Buffalo Bills show worthwhile? Any other tips to ensure a happy weekend break greatly appreciated. We will only be going once and obviously want to give to give the kids a weekend to remember without going completely bankrupt!!

Thanks so much x

For a first visit for the children, I'd recommend Cafe Mickey, and lunchtime. Its rowdy and really really good fun. You can arrange a birthday cake to come out at the end of your meal for the birthday girl/boy, and a character or 2 will bring it out :goodvibes . Lunchtime is not so busy as evening there, and you'll have the plus that the children won't be too tired or grumpy to enjoy it to the full.

Cafe Mickey doesn't have to be expensive - their main courses are not too overpriced, and I never have room for more than a main and a coffee. You'll have birthday cake for pudding anyway won't you :goodvibes .

Hope you have a fabulous trip,

i also reccomend cafe mickey at lunchtime. also the pizzas there are huge and could easily feed two people.

i also like toad hall for fish and chips tomato soup and a drink at 10 euros in fantasyland.
