My almost 3-year-old's first trip to DL is coming up on Wednesday! We got rained out in February, and rescheduled for this coming week. I bought tickets at the Disney Store today, and am really excited to share some of my favorite childhood memories with my own son.

A couple of random questions:

1. Which restaurants within Disneyland serve hot dogs? Not corn dogs...just a regular hot dog.

2. Do they have little potties at DL? I don't remember seeing any when I was a kid, but maybe I just didn't notice them? Seems like something they should have, huh?

I might have more questions before Wednesday. Can't wait!

Coke Corner at the end of Main St. in Disneyland and Award Weiners in DCA are the two that come to mind right now.

No clue, sorry! I haven't seen any, but I also have never looked.

:)

I don't know about the hotdogs, but they have little potties in the Baby Center at the end of Main Street between the photo shop and first aid :goodvibes

You're going to have so much fun! Don't forget to stop into City Hall to get a "My First Visit" pin for your little guy :goodvibes

I know we are going to have a blast. I am seriously way more excited than I should be, and it's closet excitement -- DH and my mom (who are also going) have NO IDEA how excited I am, and I'm not tellin' 'em because I'm too embarrassed. You guys are the only ones I'm willing to tell :yay: They think we are going for my son, but I know that we're kinda going for me.

In DL, the Baby Center is at the end of Main St. by the corn dog cart. In DCA, it's behind the Mission Tortilla Factory. There are small potties there.

Last I checked, Carnation Cafe has a hot dog on the kid menu, so that's an option too if the adults would like a sit-down restaurant and your DS needs his hot dog. Of course, if you want a hot dog, there's nothing wrong with that, and the choices previously mentioned will serve fine. There are a couple carts in each park that sell hot dogs as well, but I personally always wonder how long those have been wrapped up in their foil wraps and if the buns have gotten soggy.

Coke Corner at the end of Main Street has hot dogs. As for potties, I am sorry I have no idea.

A cart would work -- my son doesn't eat the bun anyway, so it doesn't matter if it's soggy! It sounds like the only sit-down kinda place where DS can get a dog and we can get something else would be Carnation, huh?

Has anyone tried the mac n cheese at any of the restaurants? Is it like Kraft from a box, or something better?

Carnation is the only one that jumps to mind. You may want to consider eating at Plaza Inn though. It's not table service, it's buffeteria style, but there is ample seating indoors and out. They serve great-sized portions of fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans, enough for two people to share really. There is also a beef choice on the menu, but we're not that fond of it. Finally, there is pasta. You can order the kids pasta and just leave off the sauce if your son likes plain noodles, or maybe he would eat the sauce? If your son doesn't want to cooperate in that, Coke Corner is just across Main Street, so you could just buy the hot dog first and carry it over to Plaza Inn with you so the adults can have something not a hot dog and your DS is still happy and able to eat with you all.

As for mac & cheese, it's not Kraft, not sure what it is exactly. We haven't gotten it at the parks for years because both DSs distinctly remember not liking it. I don't remember it all that well, so I'm not sure what it was they didn't like about it. These are kids that willingly eat Kraft from the box and homemade mac & cheese (therir preference really), but they definitely despised Disney mac & cheese.

I was thinking of saving Plaza Inn for dinner, as my DS will happily eat fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The hot dog was going to be a lunch thing. He will eat pasta with sauce, but will be looking for meatballs if I give him that! He likes grilled cheese (not going to find that, except maybe at White Water Snacks), pizza, hot dogs...and mac n cheese, but not if it's yucky :-)

Thanks!

Pasta with sauce and meatballs is one of the options at Red Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. Pasta and salads there are pretty good, and some of the portions are decent for sharing.
