DD likes Harry Potter, so we are planning a mother/daughter trip to Universal. We have never been there. I've been trying to research online about hotels, parks, etc. I think she may want to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. Would this be a good choice? Should I go with the Harry Potter vacation package?
Do any of the Universal hotels have different seasonal prices like WDW?

thanks so much!

Can you give us some specifics like when and for how long you want to go?

If you are looking at 4 nights, I would check out annual pass rates. An annual pass is about $100 more than a 4 day ticket but can save you much, much more on your hotel.

Use the code aph when you check rates online. Rates are out for September and early October.

I think RPR and PBH are more girlie hotels.

I just went on mother-daughter trip with my 16 yr. old. She loved the Hard Rock. We both did. I think it is a great place for teens and perhaps pre-teens as well.

I got an AP just for me in order to get the discounted room rate. Also once I had the AP for me, I could purchase her ticket at a discount.

Def a money saver.

I personally loved the PBH much more than HRH. I'm 20 now, I'm not sure how old your daughter is. PBH is very luxurious and spacious. Plenty of room to roam and lots of pools.
