We're booked up for our first DLRP & are going by Eurostar from St Pancras on Oct 13th.
Can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect?
I've been on the Eurostar site & I'm no further forward!

I've heard that there are Disney CM's on board - is this true?!?

Another thing, we only have 3 seats booked as my DD is only 3 so could go free (more spending money for DLRP!) are the coaches always full & do we have to alway stay in the seats we have booked? (Was hoping there might have been a spare couple of seats!):rolleyes1

thanks

Hi tex.

What class have you booked? I always travel leisure select, and have never seen anyone have to share a 4 seather with others who aren't in their party, so if you booked LS then you'll likely have a spare seat anyway.

The trains are very nice. Like a good virgin train. And st pancras is a grat station. The queues can be quite long to check in, so allow yourself about an hour before your train is due to depart.

If you aren;t getting food on board then the cafe in the departure lounge does sausage or bacon baguettes for £3!! mmmm!

We didn't book LS :guilty:

I booked through Airmiles & I kind of got railroaded!! The girl who did the booking was very nice but obviously in a big hurry!! I came off the phone not knowing what had just happened.

So I think we are going standard class.

I'm liking the sound of the bacon baguettes popcorn::

Yeah, they are very good there! And one is plenty to share!! :)

It's the little french looking cafe over in the back left corner. :)

Even though we get breakfast on the train I still manage to sneak one in!

I love the eurostar!... i have been on it many times now, and not just to dlrp, i have found the trains to be on time, clean, friendily staff, nice stations ect. I always book this option of travel, it makes it very easy to travel to dlrp hassle free.

However my only drawback is last yr when i went to Disneyland resort paris we booked our trip in may (gave them plenty of time) for a trip in Oct, and we were not given seats together, we were no where near each other!!!, this is not to much of a problem with us...but for ppl with childern i imagine it would be.

Apart from that it's great!.lol ;) :goodvibes

I wish the Ashford Station would have more shops...it lacks in the magic department as well...

I love the Eurostar, i just feel sorry for the people who get stuck next to me as Kyra sits on my lap so it makes for a fidgety journey lol.

We travelled standard, and had a really good journey. The only think i would say is to take as few bags as poss as the luggage space allowed for each carriage is daft!!!

Oh I never thought about luggage space!

Justas well you mentioned it, as we were going to take two large holdalls with us (going to get some Christmas shopping!) so I'll need to rethink that one:rolleyes:

Is it true about the Cast members being on board?

Another thing that I've read about but not too sure if it's worth it or not is the Disney express. Is it a good thing to do? We're staying at the Sequoia Lodge & according to the stuff from Disney we can't get access to the room before 3pm - I had hoped to be in then park by then:banana:

Yes, there's a couple of CMs onboard. If you booked the complete package including travel with Disney they give out the park tickets, hotel info if you haven't already collected it at St Pancras, and also they're there for the people getting on at Ashford. They also give activity kits out to kiddies. If you've booked the travel DIY then you'll collect your tickets from your hotel.

Lots of people love the Express service, others don't think its worth paying extra for it if it's not already included in their package. If you decide against using the Express service it's possible your room could be ready early but if not just use the left luggage service at your hotel. :)

We booked DIY so won't get Express as part of the deal. Liking the sounds of left luggage - I think we'll do that & save the money to spend on goodies!

Thank goodness they'll have activity packs - I know it's only two hours away but with "are we there yet!" every few minutes it could feel like a lifetime:rotfl2:
