Another good lay in today!!

Now, the kids arent aware that we've booked a night at the ASM tonight for after MNSSHP!!

Mat and I sort out our backpacks without the kids seeing. Toothbrushes, underwear, night clothes, swimming cossies etc.

The kids are excited as they know that this afternoon they are off to the party.

We leave early, around 12ish, to head to WDW. The kids have asked why we're going so early if the party doesnt start until 7pm.

Mat makes an excuse, saying the mum has read on these boards that we might be able to get into the party early. But we have to stop off at a Disney hotel first to get a "special letter" about it!!

So the kids havent a clue!! We arrive at ASM at about 1:30pm and the kids love it. They say "we wish we could stay here, mum"!!! Mat takes them for a stroll while I collect the key.

The CMs give me directions to the room and we have to walk past 2 swimming pools. I meet up with the others and nod subtley to Mat!

As we walk past the pools, the kids ask if they can go for a swim. We said "no, the pools are only for the people staying at this hotel". And the kids look gutted!!

We get to the room and I tell the kids that I want to have a look in one of the room windows to see what they are like inside. So we all go up and look in. Then I said "I wonder if I can actually get in to have a proper look around"!!!

Heather starts panicking!! "what if there are people in there asleep mum"!!!!!!!! I told her we could all creep in really quietly!!!

So the poor kids havent a clue and I open the door!! Once inside, we tell them the truth but they dont believe us!! I show them our key, the night clothes etc and they start leaping about the place!!

So we have a couple of hours to dip in the pools and look around.

I have to say that the feel of the resort is much better than the QII but the room, although its ok, hasnt got everything in it like the QII one!! The ASM was smaller (but looked fresher and neater) but it didnt have a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, hairdryer. We were only there for one night so it didnt matter too much.

Then off to the Party!! It was so easy catching the Disney bus direct. Now that DID make a difference!!

We got in at about 4:30pm and there were a few other "early birds" like us going in.

Now this party was fantastic!!! Some of the costumes were amazing!! There was a guy dressed as Jack Sparrow, and he had a queue of kids waiting to have his autograph and picture taken!!

There were four men (i think they were men!!) dressed up as Star Wars characters. They too had kids all round for photos!!

There were four ladies dressed as Snow White and The Queen, and Aurora and Maleficent. They looked outstanding!!

People really had gone to a lot of effort!! I only had an orange t-shirt on which had a pumpkin on the front!!

Some people, though, I felt went too over the top. We had dinner in the Cosmic Cafe (couldnt get PS for LTT!!!). The lady in front of us in the queue was wearing a fabulous Cruella de Vil outfit. She looked fantastic. But she had her son (who must have been about 3 years old) wearing a dalmation outfit (which is fine) but she had a collar round his neck and pulled him along on a lead. I didnt think that was too amusing.

The trick or treating was good, but what I would say is that there were far too many sweets that had nuts in. Heather has a peanut allergy and we have to carry an epi-pen everywhere, and every time she want to a trick or treat station, we had to rummage through to take out the sweets that had nuts in.

We were able to ride everything we wanted. There were no queues at all for the Mountain rides.

The atmosphere was excellent and the parade was superb!

Seeing Whinne, Tigger and Co dressed in their halloween outfits!! So cute!!

We stayed to the end and LOVED the firework display.

It was a brilliant night, made even better by the fact that we only had to catch the resort bus back to ASM!!!

Lorraine, my mistake sorry! For some reason I read your ASM a ASMo. What a wonderful surprise this was for your children! (I can't wait to do the same to mine when we check into Saratoga Springs - they have no idea either!)

love MNSSHP!! We attended our first one this year and had a blast. The outfits were wonderful, the parade fantastic and the fireworks were amazing. Can't wait to do it next year. And what a treat for your kids, a night at the All Stars. We've stayed at the Pop Century resort our last few trips and we've been spoilt now, we love staying onsite. Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
