We haven't been to DL in over 25 years, although we are WDW vets and recent DVC owners at BLT!

I have a quick girls weekend trip planned next weekend- mom, cousin and me and my 2 sisters- arriving early Friday morning at LAX and departing again on Monday, 9/13 in the afternoon. So we have 3.5 days. Staying off site- residence inn maingate.

*when do the halloween decorations go up? I know we will miss the transformations (really mad i didn't check the schedule and HM is closed during our visit for the overlay!!! doh! Are holiday themed treats already available in the bakeries etc.?

*is the 3.5 days enough? we have walk in Walt's footsteps scheduled on 9/11 in the am

*how much time should i plan on to get back to LAX from DL (and still return rental car and check in etc.). We have a 4:10pm flight.

*WOC- we booked the package at Ariels for the later show. My mom and cousin both have health issues- i worry about them having to stand that long to save our spot. One or both might be in a wheelchair at some point or all of the trip (mom is almost blind/brain tumor). Should we inquire about the handicap viewing, so at least they would be able to sit in their chairs while waiting? Both have medical issues that make them tire extremely quickly, especially in the heat. I just get nervous about the long wait standing for them.

*any other tips? Due to the health issues, this trip is more about going slow, taking in the details and enjoying hte atmosphere instead of rushing to ride to ride commando-style (my usual MO!).

I will try to answer some of your questions, since I just came back from a trip that included family that hadn't been to DLR in over 20 years.

Some of the Halloween decorations will start to be put up....currently Haunted Mansion and Toy Story Midway Mania are under refurb. I'm not sure if treats are in the shops yet, but they could pop up at anytime.

Three and a half days should be enough time if you plan. Make a list of what you HAVE to do...then a list of what you WANT to do....and then a list of IF WE HAVE TIME to do...you should get a lot done.

I would ask at the hotel you are staying at to see how long you need to get to LAX. Most hotels are very helpful.

WOC - Yes, ask for handicap seating. We went to WOC with my 78 year old mom, who is in quite good shape, but has metal pins in her ankle from an injury 10 years ago, and it is very painful for her to stand for long periods of time. I asked a CM earlier in the day if she could sit. He told me to just tell the CM when we handed them our FastPass of her condition. We all got to be in the handicap section (which was fabulous). She sat on a bench, and we stood behind her. There was lots of room in this section and it was very nice. No doctors note was needed, and Mom really appreciated it. :goodvibes

Good luck to you and have a great time!
