First trip. Hotel question

Making my first trip to Disneyland.
We are staying at the best western plus Stovall inn on katella ave.
What’s the walking look like to the entrance of Disneyland. Can we cut through the Disneyland hotel or have to go through downtown Disney. It’s hard to tell via maps.

Walk up Disneyland Drive to the Paradise Pier Hotel. Around back is the walkway towards the DLH, which is where the security entrance is to Downtown Disney/park area. (As you get closer to the PPH there will likely be signs to "Walkway to Downtown Disney".) I'm not sure the walk from BW Stovalls to that point, but PPH to the security checkpoint is a matter of a couple of minutes (give or take a minute, depending on strollers, age of walkers, etc.) From security to the main entrance, it's less than a 10 minute walk if you're not stopping to window shop. If it's already running and wait is minimal, you can also consider catching the Monorail, as the station entrance is just past the security point.

This thread has lots of information on walking and using Uber/Lyft: Walking from BWP Stovalls. You cannot cut through the GCH on the way to the parks coming from Disneyland Dr., but you can cut through on your way back, coming from DTD.

When we were looking at hotels and considering what to do, we were able to find videos of the walk on YouTube. You might check there!
