We returned from our first trip home at the WLV on 11/29. We had room 2537, a 1-bdrm lock off; as soon as we walked in we fell in love with the room. My DS had room 2535, a dedicated 2 bdrm, of course they didn’t want to leave. My DM had room 2542 a studio, she was happy with the room except the plastic ware and paper bowls and plates. All 3 rooms were clean; kids loved the hot tub after long days in the parks. My question is do all studios have plastic ware for not having a dishwasher? It’s no big deal for me but my mom was very upset because of the money she forked out for DVC.

This is true and for the reason you state. Not everyone would be very good about cleaning real dishes without the dishwasher and this would quickly create a health/bug hazard. Some people who frequent studios bring along their own silverware and/or purchase heavy duty papergoods once down in Florida. It might be possible to get real dishes from housekeeping if you ask.

As Pam said, all studios do have paper/plastic. Since there is no full kitchen, how much "heavy duty" cooking can you do in a studio, anyway? When we get studios, we buy some fairly heavy paper plates and heavy duty plastic silverware. I do pack a sharp knife. If you truly do like "real" silverware and are booked into a studio, be sure to pack a set to bring with you. With the heavier plastic silverware that is available, I don't bother packing the real thing. This way we don't HAVE to wash it and pack it for the trip home :)
