We're planning our first trip home to SSR, any suggestions as to which sections would be good for us? On this trip we'll be taking our two youngest kids 16 and 18 years old . I'm guessing (hoping) they'll be spending alot of time on their own and probably at DTD, I know they love Disney Quest from past trips and won't want to spend time with us. We're booking a 2 bedroom and would like a decent view. My wife and I are fit and enjoy walking, so walking distances won't be an issue for us.
Thanks for any suggestions!

We liked the Springs section because it is close to the main building/pools/food, but Congress Park is the closest to DTD. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk to the end with Rainforest Cafe (I think that's Marketplace). We are walkers, however, and walked to both ends of DTD from the Springs and from the Paddocks each time we've stayed there, and it's been no big deal. Our boys will be 15 and 13 this trip and are excited that we have agreed to let them do Disney Quest on their own.

The Grandstand section is also near a walking path to DTD that comes out by the Cirque and Disney Quest. It is also close to a nice pool and the carriage house and main pool. We were in the building next to the pool and the walk to the bus was about the same if we went to the Grandstand stop or the Springs stop. Views are very subjective so it depends on what you mean by a good view. We overlooked the carriage house where the ME buses let people off and were happy watching people walk by on the way there and we could also see other parts of the resort but it definitely was not a true DTD view although we could see some of the lights through the trees.

This might be a dumb question but here it comes, when you book a stay the vac planner lists the point values by certain days of the week or by "weekly" which days make up the weekly stay, like mon. thru sat. or sat. thru sat. etc. Thanks for any help.

I take weekly to mean seven consecutive nights. I don't think it matters which day you actually check in.

Congress Park is the closest to DTD. If you are fortune enough to get a DTD view it is beautiful. Good Luck and have a great trip:goodvibes

You are right weekly points are just there to make it easier for someone to calculate a week instead of adding up each night, a week is 5 weekday nights (Sun - Thur) and two weekend nights (Fri and Sat). Unless of course the week goes across two seasons then it has to be worked out for each night.
