You know it will be but fsomething has happened that I will share. I put it on other boards, disabilities and the cruise board (don't worry they are different posts but have similar info) but let me run it past you guys.

My son had a stroke in utero and while he is doing fantastic he is really late potty training due to his disability. I asked if they would still be able to allow him in the age appropriate activities even if he still has potty issues and they told me no even if I agree to be paged to change him whenever need be. So then I asked if they would charge me less points for him since he will not be able to do any of the activities for his age group so why not charge him the 2 years and under points (he will be 4 on this trip) and again they said no. It just doesn't seem fair that he is excluded because of a handicap and it is equally not as fair that we are being charged points for an age appropriate child if they will not allow him in his age appropriate activities.

What do you all think? Should I call my guide and complain and see if he can help me?

Hi,

Sounds great to me!!!

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Sorry to hear your son has some disabilities that will make it hard to attend some of the activities, but he will have lots of fun anyway. We have a friend who is in the same situation. Keep your focus on what you can do and enjoy yourselves!! We'll look forward to your trip report!

LovetoDisney--has the right idea here. Just concentrate on the positive. I had 3 kids they were all trained at around 2. I knew plenty of people that had kids that were not "ready" until they were older, who were not disabled. You get questions similar to this on other boards on this site, for example, a very common one is, "my child is only 4 years old but is not tall enough to go on all the rides, I don't think we should have to pay like he is 9 years old." The point here is you could have a 4 year old that pays and does not do any of the activities for him on the ship, he still should pay. I hate to bring this up with this question because I know you are sincere, but after years on this board, I have learned there are people out there that will do anything to beat the system. I know you are not one of those, but if they used any other method other than age to determine price, they would open themselves up to real problems. Have a nice vacation>

You know I never thought of it that way. The only thing I could think of to prevent that is to show proof of a disability and not just a doctors note but like a paper from the school district or Early Intervention to show your child has a disability. I have papers all over this house from what therapy and stuff Chris gets. It would be easy to bring that along. But your right I forgot about the people that would try and take advantage of it. UGH! There is no easy way.
