We leave in 4 more sleeps for our first trip (!) and my son will celebrate his 8th birthday during our stay. Is there anything I can plan in advance of our trip for his birthday? Thx in advance :)

You could have a birthday cake delivered to a meal your having. You may want to call them ASAP if you decide to have one made:) Have fun!

I would second the calling the cake hotline and getting a cake! Even just a mini cake. It's so fun to be surprised with one at your meal! They need at least 72 hrs notice (72 hrs prior to the ADR you want it delivered at). There's a thread on the restaurant board with all the info you'd need. They are awesome cakes!

Yes wear the buttons for the entire trip- you never know what kind of magic will come your way. pixiedust:

We always wear ours, and sometimes it's just the little things like other people saying happy birthday, then there are the bus drivers like Bill that say things, and we've also had phone calls from characters, free cupcake and the birthday song at restaurants, etc. :bday:

Most definitely let Disney know you are celebrating a birthday! We went last summer for several milestone b-days. DW 50th, DD 21st, DD 18th, DD 16th, and our 25th anniversary. Made out like bandits while we were there. Mickey called our rooms to wish happy birthday four different days. It was a blast all the way around.
