I will be traveling with DD and DS and decided to rent a car but.........I am a nervous reck about getting around. I have been a gazillion times but never payed attention to the signs or roads let DH do the driving. Am I nuts?? I was going to use map quest but hear all the signs have changed so now what?? Any advice appreciated!! Thanks Laurie :D

**Only going from MCO to BWI, BWI to AK and BWI to DD (OK so maybe shopping more than once since DH won't be with ;) )

The only signs that changed are the exit numbers on I-4, they now go by the mile marker. You really willn't need to get on I-4 if you take the south exit out of the airport to 417. Within WDW, everything is the same. I would take a look at a property map in a guide book, there is also one on the web, I don't have the address right now. It is really easy getting around WDW once you know the main roads.

Thanks I thought all the signs had changed. Are all the signs on property clearly marked or could it get confusing? Thanks Laurie :D

Lvstnk, from what I have been told, it is only the numbers of the exits on I-4 that have changed. The signs on Disney Property haven't from what I recall. I drive everytime we go to Orlando and WDW,and have gone so often that at this point I don't even look at the signs anymore. When you check into the resort they will give you a Disney Resort property map that is pretty easy to follow. BWI is pretty centrally located and it is easy to AK as well as DTD from there. Also, if have a car, and feel adventurous, you can hit one of the nearby outlet malls for even bigger bargains. When we were there last month, we hit every Disney Outlet Store in Orlando.... I actually like to shop so that makes it easier for my wife ;) ;)

Here's the online WDW map:

I rented for the first time on our October 1998 trip, I learned it pretty fast. Everything is well laid out and is easy to follow. It helps when you already know the landmarks (resorts, parks, etc). Now we venture out to the outlets and offsite restaurants & shopping with no problem. I'm amazed at how much easier it is to drive there than in PA.

Thank You Thank You! My DH thinks it's pretty funny that I have not been looking where he has been driving on all these trips!! Even my DS 15 knows his way around most of Orlando. I feel much better now with the map, your words of encouragement, and my DD 13 who can get around pretty well too. I feel like I am doing Disney for the first time LOL!

** Sgt, I had to read my husband your post about shopping, he only buys things at the kitchen store next to the Haunted Mansion and 1 mug every trip!!
