Hey everyone
We are planning our first trip to the fort for either early April '11 or late May.
We have a 30 ft TT and were wondering what is the difference in site size and ease of manuverability between premium and preferred sites?

Premium sites are wider and longer. The length was added by eliminating the sand area at the back of the site. They also added about 3 feet or more to the width. They are much easier to back into...especially with bigger rigs. I prefer them over the other sites due to the size of my rig. :thumbsup2

And the entrance to Premiums was flared to the side you will need to back in from. This also makes for more parking space in front of your site is you have a TV or toad.

We used to book the preferred, but have recently started booking the premium. We have a 32' Class C and although we don't really need the extra space the sites are more uniform and we find we don't have to worry about poorly placed trees interferring with our slide or awning. It is also nice to have some room to spread out if you are staying longer than a couple days. I hate paying the extra money because things are tight and it is a slab of concrete, but we don't get lots of down times between two full time jobs and owning our own business on the side. It's a small price to pay for Magic.

We just got back from our first visit to FW and had a preferred site. The flared side was great and we used this.

I personally like the full hook up sites. I think it's a personal preference and how well you can back up your MH, TT, etc. I can't back ours up at all, that's why my husband does it. I guess if he need a premium site, we would have to go that route.
